I ordered a book a few weeks ago and every time I check the website, it said that still in transit. I ended up ordering the book from a different store while checking the website when the item will be coming in which still said in process, and in-transit. I went to the store and ask about it and cancel it caused it has been weeks and I just brought a new one a couple days ago, and the employee was able to help me check the book and found that they have in the back. Instead I got blamed for not checking my email that the email could be in spam folder because it is a gmail. While on the website under my order, it said in process. Anyone with a brain can tell that if the website said “in-process”, you are not going to get a “ready for pick up” email. I ordered items from the bookstore in the past, and the status on the website has to ready to be picked up in order for one to received an email. Instead the manager yelled at me and embarrassed me in-front of others by asking why did I not come in few days after I placed the order and ask about it as if it was my fault. Saying I can’t return it because it is past one week return policy. Because if something has been shipped, it usually takes about a week and half for something to come in?? Instead I patiently waited longer because I thought there was a delayed. Instead I came to a conclusion that when the item arrived, the employee did not scan the item — therefore not notifying me my item came in, but instead the manager acted like it was my fault. I return the book as a rental and ended up paying for the cost of the book for the store mistakes and got yelled at for it. Advices to people, I would order from amazon instead having to deal with being blame for something you are not...
Read moreI went to return some rental textbooks today as the semester wraps up. I’ve never had any problems the few times I’ve stepped inside the store, however, today I was accused of bringing back one of my rental books damaged. The man behind the counter claimed that I damaged the book and that I would be fined $61.50, yet the condition I had received this rental in was already not in good shape which included pen scrawlings, a fading cover, and of course, previous water damage from whoever rented it last. Besides that one book though, all other 5 textbooks I returned were in the same condition I got them, so this felt like a test to my character. I contested this accusation, saying that this is how I received the book back in January when I first rented from them. I’m not one to lie about the quality of books I received nor would I lie to get out of this fee if I did truly damage the book. He replied with how they wouldn’t even rent these out to students like me and instead sell it due to its condition, further trying to say I damaged the book. However, to my luck, he waived the fee, but told me that next time he “wouldn’t be so nice about it.” Not only was this customer service abhorrent at best, but just plain rude to a student who has already placed a fair deal of money going to this school. If you’re going to accuse me of damaging books, which why would I, then at least make sure to keep a record log of your books and the state of their condition. I’ve had better experiences here, but this makes me want to look elsewhere for my books...
