Title: Landers Chevrolet of Norman: A Disastrous Truck Purchase Experience for an Active Duty Air Force Member
Rating: â ââââ (1/5)
I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a brand new 2023 Chevy Colorado from Landers Chevrolet of Norman. From the very beginning, this purchase has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I am deeply disappointed with both the dealership's general manager and General Motors' support.
Within just a few months of owning the truck, I encountered numerous problems that have severely impacted its functionality. The most concerning issue lies with the entire dash and infotainment system, which inexplicably turns black, rendering the vehicle completely undrivable. It is simply unacceptable that a brand new vehicle would have such critical malfunctions.
To make matters worse, my truck has spent an exorbitant amount of time, over 35 days, in the shop for repairs. This extended period of time without my vehicle not only inconveniences my daily life but also raises serious doubts about the quality and reliability of the product I invested in. It is disheartening to feel trapped in a vehicle that constantly requires repairs, leaving me with no viable solution in sight.
Furthermore, Landers Chevrolet's claim of supporting the military feels like nothing more than an empty marketing ploy. As an active duty Air Force member, I expected to receive better treatment and support from both the dealership and General Motors to remedy this situation . However, I have been left feeling unsupported and disregarded throughout this entire ordeal.
The lack of urgency, responsiveness, and effective resolution from both the general manager and General Motors has left me stranded and disillusioned. As an active duty member of the Air Force, I deserve better treatment and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.
I strongly caution anyone considering Landers Chevrolet of Norman as their dealership of choice. My experience with both the product and customer service has been deeply disappointing, and I would hate for others to go through the same frustrations.
In conclusion, my purchase of a 2023 Chevy Colorado from Landers Chevrolet of Norman has been marred by multiple problems, a lack of support from the general manager and General Motors, and a feeling of being trapped in a malfunctioning vehicle. I regret choosing this dealership and vehicle, as the quality and customer service have fallen far below expectations.
Even through this awful experience Iâve had several employees truly have tried to help in anyway they can. Celia and Rama from sales and Jason from service have gone above and beyond to help and try to make things right. I would not hesitate to conduct business with them, however their bosses have...
Read moreWow - so much to say - all positive. Tom D. was such a wonderful person and salesman. He was reassuring all the way through this purchase. He answered all our numerous emails and questions. Even after you folks had our check, he continued with service after the sale. He followed us to the car and sent us on our way with good thoughts. We liked that he shared a little about his own life to make the experience more like we were dealing with a person rather than we were just a number on his sales quota. He was just answered prayer for us. The sales manager (may have been a different type of manager) was great as well. Not only did he answer my call, but he even sought us out while we were there and shook our hands with a smile. We appreciated his sincerity and sense of humor. It was nice to be in a dealership that was not all up tight like some we have been to in this search for a vehicle. A person always wonders if they made the right choice on a major purchase. We think we did. We had previously had such a bad experience at a dealership in Missouri that we were a little "gun-shy" on this purchase. We got to the end part where you finish the deal and it was time for the military discount to be applied. This is the point where our deal ended in Missouri even though we had made a 8-hour round-trip there. I personally felt attacked in Missouri and certainly realized that dealership was not going to help our military family obtain that discount. But here with Tom at Landers Chevrolet of Norman (Oklahoma), he assisted us with that part of the sale, first providing us with a link to find the information. Then once there, he helped us further in applying the military discount to our car purchase. We recommend this dealership if you are a military family. Our new car was in the showroom and ready to go. We completed the deal in less than 2 hours. The finance department was a positive experience too. They explained everything we signed and answered all our questions. Although I did not catch this gentleman's name, we appreciated hearing a bit about his family, a father of six. He also had a great personality, friendly, funny, and professional. I am so thankful to have found these folks. We were about to give up on our car search for awhile. We have two great local Chevy dealers where we live in Kansas, but neither had the car we were looking for. It's nice to see that there are dealerships that a family can still depend on for friendly service and integrity. Thank you so much. My last three Malibu purchases have been positive. We are sad to see Malibu model end, but know Chevy will have other options as always...
Read moreMy wife and I have been looking for a new family car for quite some time, we had narrowed our search done to a couple of models, one being the Chevrolet Tahoe. We knew we were going to have to order whatever vehicle we decided on because inventory levels are so low. Luckily when we stumbled into the dealership we found Nick and Julian, I think we were fortunate to have Nick and Julian, who listened to what I was looking for, and did very well to include my wife in the discussion. They took the time to explain to us the various trim levels and the differences in each one, we knew what we wanted but were unsure of the features available on each different trim level. They took the time to explain the features and benefits of each one and they did not try to sell us on the most expensive vehicle they worked with us to build the Tahoe that best suited our family!
Once we decided that the Tahoe was the vehicle for us, we decided to have Nick and Julian place the order for the Tahoe based on the build features that we had discussed. Our Tahoe took about 10 weeks to get in, we knew it would take a while with the current supply chain issues but it came in faster than their expected date!
The paperwork process and finance flowed very smoothly, there were no unexpected surprises. This did not seem like the typical car buying experience, I didnât at any time have the feeling of âsigning my life awayâ that I have had in the past.
Nick and Julian made sure that the Tahoe was cleaned, filled up, and made sure that we both knew how all of the functions of the Tahoe worked. Nick and Julian made my car buying experience a memorable one, and not the often times horror story memory that we often encounter with buying a car. My wife and I were both so pleased with the customer service that was provided by Nick and Julian and Landers Chevrolet that we would recommend anyone that is in the market for a new or used car to go there first. The used inventory was surprisingly full of high quality, well priced vehicles.
The only negative in the entire process was from the factory and not from Landers it was a part that had been installed improperly at the factory but the staff at Landers found the issue and addressed the problem in a very timely manner and we have had no other issues!
We love our new Tahoe and the buying process was a no stress experience! Go check out Landers Chevrolet and visit Nick and Julian, I am sure he will be able to find the vehicle that you want at a price you...
