Massage Zen Corp — Local services in North Bergen

Making this review a week after my first massage here and I’ve had time to think about this. In retrospect, I’m not sure if I’d go back based on the experience I had. Let me preface by saying this place is very affordable and the massage was very good. This is a legitimate massage place- I had a good experience and considering I work out five to seven days a week, my muscles felt pretty relieved afterward. There was a big problem that holds me back from a 5 star review. My masseuse was sick when I went. She was blowing her nose and coughing throughout the entire hour. I understand people get sick, but I cannot support being sick when clients are so close in a constricted space. She should not have been working that day, in fact, the masseuse blew her nose and proceeded to touch my hair and face without any hand sanitizer or hand washing after. I ended up going right to a pharmacy and got immune supplements to avoid getting sick, I don’t even know if they work but I was certainly worried I’d contract something. Big no in my book. I got a full body massage there. The masseuse was good and gave a really good massage. I don’t mind hard pressure so I liked it but there was no communication about anything as ahe did not know English but I didn’t have any problems. I would have given 5 stars for the massage but what happened after the massage really made me angry. After I paid and gave 20 percent tip they didn’t even want to talk to me. I asked if they provided head massage and of i could book for the next day, the owner just shouted from inside some room we have our next appointment is coming soon and didn’t even answer my query. There was no one waiting there, I was alone. She could not even acknowledge the question or request for future appointments and that really made me question if i shoud ever go there again. I dont like leaving low ratings and if u check my profile i dont leave bad ratings but this was something that made me sad after a good massage session. Had a pretty bad experience this past weekend. We booked a couples massage on Saturday. My masseuse was wearing rubber gloves which was quite unpleasant and kept pulling my hair out she also went into a coughing fit mid massage which was very uncomfortable for me. Overall massage was OK the pressure wasn’t great and she didn’t really hit any triggerpoints. But the worst part was after the massage I want to use the ladies room and my boyfriend went up to pay. He also left a tip he asked for the receptionist to break the bill but she said it’s OK don’t worry about it I’ll give it to them. As I’m coming out of the bathroom my masseuse runs up to me and starts yelling “you tip me, you tip me” to which I responded that my boyfriend already tipped for both.
