I just ordered from there having not ordered there before and I was less than impressed. I ordered a salad and there was no salad I ordered plasticware there was no plasticware. I wanted pasta because I had ordered chicken franchise which I wanted to put over it but the pasta already had some old cold marinara on it. I fixed that by throwing the pasta into a colander and washing it off in super hot water which helped a lot but that was a giant pain in the butt. The chicken franchise itself was good but it arrived cold. I had read the ratings of the restaurant and I was on the fence but I just wanted something different then the place I usually order from but I won't be ordering from them again. Uber has some culpability here because they send a driver who lives quite a ways away to pick it up to drive it to my house. That might have had something to do with why everything was pretty much room temperature or colder because the weather is actually nice tonight. I have actually been to this restaurant for pizza and I thought it was good. The restaurant was a little dated but the staff was nice so I figured there was a good balance and a good trade-off of sorts because everyone was nice and friendly. I do not agree with a lot of the reviewers reviews on the staff , they're actually very nice people but would I order a big dinner from them again?? No, absolutely not. I wish I had something more positive to say but instead let me give you this; I highly suggest you go with their desserts because they taste like they've been brought in from an Italian bakery. I doubt they're made in house. Do not order garlic bread unless you just want bread with olive oil and garlic from a jar spread on it. I also suggest going there as opposed to ordering and avoid ordering from uber eats completely perhaps if I had ordered from the restaurant my experience would have been slightly better but as of right now I'm sticking to my...
Read moreI will leave this review only for the owners to perhaps improve the food, every restaurant has always space for make everything better, I’m sure they could. I ordered Gnocchi with Pomodoro e Basilico, something fairly simple and straightforward in Italian cuisine.
Unfortunately it’s by far the worst gnocchi and pomodoro sauce I’ve ever tried. I’ve have eaten that combination 100th of times in Italy, with nonne, with Italian friends, I as well prepare it in the traditional way, I know how it should taste and look:
The gnoccho: Strong cheesy taste, rubbery texture, way too big, extremely dense and had some sort of spices on it (likely black pepper). Uneatable. Keep it simple, good potatoes, eggs, some flour and a pinch of salt will do the job when properly executed.
The sauce: First big mistake, it was not passata di pomodoro, so I don’t understand what exactly you were referring as a tomato sauce. It had some white coloration, with some trails of tomatoes skin, a stronger taste of funky cheese, extremely salty, you couldn’t taste a bit of the basilico of course and watery. Overall a weird sauce. Again uneatable. Another very easy preparation, some high quality passata, olive oil, fried garlic cloves for aromatize the oil, dry or fresh basilico, balanced salt, cooked slowly and at the end some fresh basilico leaves for freshness. Simple, perfect.
I understand that some places try to innovate the traditional recipe so it also adapts to the locals customs. However, some fundamental characteristics of the original should be included to call it as the traditional. If it’s a new interpretation, is fair to have that clear beforehand and one will have that in mind.
Nevertheless, the service was great, all the employees were extremely professional, kind and super helpful at all time. I hope this critic will be received as an honest perspective with the purpose of improving...
Read moreVery upsetting! This restaurant is constantly making mistakes. I am tired of calling to complain everytime! The owner is very nice but the staff at the counter just doesn't care. I spent over $80 on food and give them a $15.00 tip. Get to the restaurant and the cashier had the nerve to say we didn't pay. I had the paid receipt in my email and also my bank transactions where the money was deducted. The guy finally confirms it was paid, but really?? Why bother having an online option if your going to accuse people of not paying?? It's your job to track this stuff! I drive back home 30 min and they did not put the desert in the bag. It's so frustrating to spend so much money and keep having these mistakes happen. Last time they forgot to put chicken on my salads. And other instances that I can write about book about. Have been a patron here for over 10 years but not worth the...
