Peterson's North Branch Mill — Local services in North Branch

We love Peterson's because they have a great selection of products for both our chickens and dogs, particularly theirHUGE variety of natural and raw dog food. They are always well staffed, and everyone is super friendly and helpful. Whenever an employee walks by (which is often), they always ask if they can help as opposed to other stores where one of three things happen. #1 you can't ever find anyone to ask, #2 employees walk by and pretend you are invisible, or #3 they have no idea where to find what you are looking for. NOTE: if you get annoyed when you are asked multiple times if you need any helps then don't shop here.... it usually happens at least twice a visit but often 3 or 4 times by different employees.

If there is one negative, it is that their prices are higher than other places, sometimes A LOT higher, but there are always trade-offs offs in life. I'd rather support a business like this when I can vs go to a big box store and get terrible service.

PERK: They have a loyal customer program for both dog food and chicken feed, which will save you money which will offset the higher prices at least for those things (they likely have one for other things as well since they carry horse feed and other animal feed).

Wish they had more clothing choices for women (they carry a lot of Carhartt stuff for men) and hemp bedding for my chickens. Add these two things, and my rating goes...

There aren't many retailers left who offer such high level of customer service, but North Branch is happily home to at least one of them. Every time I shop at Peterson's I am greeted by an associate and asked if there is anything I may need help finding. And although I rarely have the need, they will also gladly assist you and cart your purchases out to your vehicle. A full service mill, they also offer a comprehensive array of products for lawn/garden, farm and pet / feed needs as well as propane and pool/spa products. Check out their 'downtown' area behind the registers - perhaps one of North Branch's neat little secrets - which adds a very unique and attractive ambience to the store! As others have informed, they may not always have the best price, but I'll go there for the service and selection (they have what I need, here in town, right...

The BEST customer service, truly! They rarely even let you carry anything out to your car! As it's being rung up by the always friendly cashiers, some nice young man is already hefting the feed bags over his shoulders to carry it out. And they have the best feed for any animal you may have....you name the animal, they have the feed, or they can get it. I recommend their "Hubbard" brand foods, most even have a buy 10 get one free card for frequent shoppers. I have a 14 year old lab, a 15 year old lab, and a 19 year old pug who all have healthy shiny fur, and bright eyes from this food. To the person who gave a bad review, I could never imagine rude service from the Petersons team, but it sounds like this Lori was having just as bad a day as you were when you wrote your review.
