Just left the Hampton LL Bean outlet with the worst experience ever. I just got harassed by two ladies trying to return three pieces of clothing. For somebody that spends hundreds of dollars every year at beans and returns a lot of items to only buy more, I found it so frustrating to have two people interrogate everything that happened to my clothing. At the end of the day they are no longer accepting anything that isn't a manufacturer defect. And they pointed me to their new policy. Everything from how did a rip happen, to why did the button pop off? At the end of the day it's all my fault. Take a look at this new policy and you might as well kiss goodbye the old L.L.Bean because things have changed.
Yep the era of the no-questions-asked return policy for any reason has been officially replaced with the ask as many questions as possible and become accusatory so that even a Zen Buddhist monk would pull what little hair he has out and run out...
Read moreI shop this store in north Hampton frequently or at least I used to. A couple of weeks ago I purchased a few items, one of which was the wrong size. I didn't realize this until I ripped off the tag and put the garment on. Needless to say it didn't fit so I tried to return it to the store. The two cashiers my then informed me that a sales receipt was required in order to simply exchange the garment for a different size. Incredible! They told me it was company policy. I left with my garment and detached tag that does not fit that cannot simply be exchanged. I have heard of nonsense before but this takes the cake. I foresee tough head winds for this "outlet" in the future where their customer service policies are as poor as I can remember. What tops all is that they were concerned about fraud!?!? The tag matched the item and the item had LL Bean insignia all over the garment. Give me...
Read moreI went to the outlet store in Hampton, NH after work last week and was pleasantly surprised to find an anorak jacket that I had been looking at on-line. I also needed to return two anorak jackets - hit the wrong button with the incorrect sizes when I ordered them on-line. Wendy, the woman that assisted me could not have been more pleasant or accommodating. She made suggestions as to what I might like, she looked for my correct size and she handled my return professionally and graciously with a smile on her face the entire time. It's so nice to interact with an employee of an establishment that loves what they do and more importantly goes out of their way to assist a customer. It's a rarity post covid, in particular. That's the level of customer service that will bring me back to your store time and time again. Wendy should serve as the benchmark to how you evaluate...
