DJ's Cards and Comics — Local services in North Haven

Just went in To this card store with my son. My son is turning five next week. I told him we can get Pokemon or Marvel cards. It was his first card store he’s ever been to.

When we arrived, I noticed some Pokemon singles marked up at least 25% in the display cases. They offered my son to look through some shoeboxes, which was likely an old Collection bought in bulk. The entire box was priced at a dollar higher even heavily played energy cards were marked for a dollar.

I wanted to get my son something, so I asked the guy if he could do a Marvel blaster for $50 seeing as they’re selling online for $50 landed. The owner refused to sell the Marvel blaster for $50 saying that there’s nowhere I can get it for a less than 60 and he’s only got eight boxes left.

Not to mention all the Pokemon packs that he had in the store, were all retail packs marked at double the price.

Very sad to see an owner of a card store care more about making 100%+ profit on a box than letting a five year old walk out of his card store happy.

For well over 20 years this has been my comic book shop. The owner Dave is a great individual, who also goes out of his way to please his customers. His extremely knowledgeable staff is able to point you in the right direction for any of your sport/comic/magic needs. Throughout the course they run great sales and are on point when it comes to the free comic day event. I do however have a personal note that I must state regarding the negative ratings of this shop.

I’ve witnessed on numerous occasions people coming trying to sell or trade merchandise. Everyone thinks their items are worth their weight in gold, which 8 out 10 times is not the case. DJs has been one of the best comic & cards shop around for decades! The staff is extremely nice and always willing to help. They have recently completed some remodeling that really improves the shopping and browsing experience. They have a very diverse set of merchandise that includes new and old comics (graded and raw) , new and old sports cards (graded and raw), sports memorabilia, comic statues, action figures and toys, TPBs, Manga, Funko Pops, Pokemon, and Magic cards, You name it , they have it. The owner is reasonable and prices on back issues are competitively priced based on current, up to the minute, market value.
