For starters, the place is a bit run down. The pub was cute and updated, loved the free pool until 6, but the bowling was subpar. Trying out balls, one of the balls was so worn out it cut me. Most of the balls were in rough shape. We also asked for the bumpers, as my elderly boyfriends Mom was having a lot of trouble. The gentleman behind the counter said “that’s for kids ten and under”, which id understand if this was an updated ally with automatic bumpers, but the family next to us had one child, and the bumpers stayed up for everyone, so it’s not like adults weren’t using them elsewhere. I don’t see what the harm was in putting them up, and we could tell she was discouraged and embarrassed. Everyone should have the ability to have fun. Luckily we only paid for one hour. We tried to use the rolling guide assistance, but it was covered in screwed up duct tape, and bounced the ball around. As for my boyfriend and I, we’re both decent bowlers, around a 140 average. Neither of us broke 100. Like I said, the balls were pretty badly beaten up, so I’m sure that impacted it. We watched other bowlers around us too, and noticed that others were having difficulty hitting a strike also. Just bizarre, because we’re both usually good for at least 2 each a game, and it took me three games to get one. But, I’m not an avid bowler, so maybe I’m thinking too much into it. Back to the bar, sure, you can buy drinks- but they have to stay behind the fence. Normally, this would be no big deal, but the fence was up a couple steps, and as I stated, we were with elderly people. Sucked being thirsty for the hour we played, seeing as we both drove 30+ minutes to bowl here. We went to the pub after, the bartender was very pleasant, and the pool tables were in great shape for a bowling alley bar. I think with new balls, and a more reasonable policy on the bumpers, we would have bought an additional hour, but it...
Read moreReally disappointed, have been here before for my brothers birthday, and enjoyed the place staff was awesome, came back for a date, and when I asked to have the bumpers raised, bc I’m not that great at bowling lol, the staff was pretty rude, originally had my bf go up and ask, the man working said “not for you guys” and pretty much blew him off so I went up to ask then the young teen girl working cut in and rolled her eyes rudely saying “ he literally just came up and asked” when asking why, I was told we were too old to have them raised. It’s for fun it’s not a tournament so I really don’t understand why this is a policy I have never had this told to me once before at any other facility, however not really the “no bumpers” thing that got to me more of how the situation was handled and the unnecessary comments from the girl, if your going to work in customer service you should do better at handling questions about policies. I understand company policies and don’t blame the staff for enforcing them, I do however hold them at fault for the eye rolls, scoffs, and cutting in...
Read moreThe front desk is the face of your business. Why would you have someone work behind the desk who acts like he hates dealing with people?!? I came here for my birthday. No one in line in front of me. No one behind me. Zero acknowledgement from the older man behind the desk. It was weird, not very welcoming but whatever. Eventually, my wife asked if we can rent a lane with bumpers for my little one. The man said no, they're all taken, then went back to whatever he was doing. Thats it? He was all set. Job well done? I was honestly really taken back and I'm known for being patient, almost to a fault! I wanted ask him what was his deal and leave but I took a walk instead. One look at the monitors and I could clearly see that several people were about to finish their games and lanes with bumpers would then be available. Was he that oblivious? I have no idea. I emailed the company to give them a chance to explain before posting this. No reply. 3 stars because it's clean and a younger staff member showed up and was really nice. The bar area looked like it'd be...
