Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in North Miami Beach

I receive food on Friday via DoorDash from this chipotle. When I received my food, it was cold which I know was not due to chipotle because my driver was running late. Besides that the bowl was extremely lacking. I have visited other chipotles, my favorite is the one on 49th street in Hialeah. So my review will be based off of the service I always receive at that location. The first thing I noticed when I opened my burrito bowl was the line inside the bowl, what I mean by that is that usually my bowl is racked with all of my toppings that I don’t see the line inside the bowl. The second thing I noticed was that the bowl was lacking in ingredients. The rice and beans were hardly there, a careless half scoop, there was barely any barbacoa, I specially remember this because I had to spread the little chunks I did have so that the meat to rice ratio would be okay. I received only two sauces on top but I asked for all of the sauces. I asked for fajitas as well but I didn’t get much of that either, the pieces I did get weren’t sautéed enough, I know it normally runs out really fast but come on. The lettuce which there is usually a good amount of was also barely there it was scattered. As if the server did not take the time to carefully make sure the bowl was properly portioned. Also for some reason the bowl was soggy like it was sitting in water. I’m really disappointed, I know now to just continue to go to the chipotle in Hialeah. This is the nearest Chipotle to my home and I’ve been coming here for the last 4 years. Unfortunately, I’ve seen the slow decay of this chipotle over this time, specially after the pandemic. I understand the pandemic placed countless challenges on businesses and individuals alike. Hence why I’ve been flexible and patient when attending this location.

Once upon a time, a staff member here and there may have had a bad day and it shows. The food made up for it at least. Now, it’s hard to say the same. The staff looks miserable and it’s not the best feeling in the world to have someone that is in such a bad state serving you food. I worked fast food for years and I understand the stress that comes with it, but never could I allow myself to appear as unwilling to be somewhere as I’ve seen the staff here for the last year. Sadly, the quality of food has also declined. I am no expert on chipotle measurements but good lord the amount of protein being given in the bowls is absolutely pitiful. In 4 years I’ve never had to worry about wether or not the amount of protein was sufficient. Funny enough, I would roll my eyes at people that would ask the staff to add more as it they hadn’t put enough on their bowl. However, now, even I’ve been upset by the amount of food being given. There is no consistency in serving quantities. If you ask for sour cream, be ready to eat a sour cream bowl. It’s gotten to the point I order it on the side. Great service. Fast. Good taste. Update: as of 2021 the quality of taste has been dropped to the bottom, the meat is always with fat or completely not chewable(sometimes half a bowl of steak is just impossible to chew trough), the rice has no lime taste, the meat is bland or super spicy and either dry or undercooked, the rice is over salted about 3 times out of ten, corn is not sweet most of the time and is just bland, the guacamole is good when they don't mix in old batches from yerstoday, and sometimes in the morning they use yerstodays meat which is super dry. And its completely true that the manager is inept at training the staff, any other chipotle has a great food line with staff working quickly to receive you're order, here you will only see 2 people taking care of 1 customer and 60% of the time only 1, and the other will work with the register, the manager is mostly seen like she is doing work, but will slack of on the tables, or in the back. The staff is left alone to deal with the costumers by themself. The staff is mostly young and have no major faults, it's the manager running the store that is the major issue. I am comparing the taste to other chipotle places that are wonderfull, and everything is fresh and has many flavors packed together that do not conflict with each other.
