I am writing this review in regards to an incident that occurred 09/30/2023. The behavior I experienced from not only the ride operator but the Manager who’s name was Alex, was atrocious and put me in a situation where for once I felt I had to yell to just get them to understand what they did was wrong. I will start by saying we got our tickets which we were quoted $16 for two adults to take our twin children for a ride who are at the age of 22 months old. Seemed a bit steep so we were going to leave when they lowered it to $12 on the spot. So we proceeded to take the girls onto the carasoul and I was going to hold my one daughter on a horse with the strap hooked up that is already on every horse. The operator came over and said I’m not allowed to do that as if I don’t have the ability to hold my own daughter on a horse. He said it was safety protocol. I gave no argument other then saying really?! Are we that restricted of a world that you can’t even hold your kids on a carousel horse for safety reasons? I proceed to sit in the carriage that they had on the platform when my wife points out to me that right next to us another woman proceeded to load her daughter onto a horse and was holding her. This child was clearly younger and basically under one year old. I then bring this up to the operator who becomes irate. I then leave the carousel telling them that what he did was wrong and should not be allowed. We then tried speaking with the manager, Alex who proceeded to give us different versions of why the operator hadn’t allowed us to do exactly what the other mother did with her child. We got a refund and then my family began questioning the manager. He became even more of a liar about why the situation had just occurred. He then explains to my brother because at this time it was finally brought up that we were a white couple and the mother in question was African American, as well as the ride operator who told us no but allowed her to do the same thing we asked. Alex, the manager, tells my brother in law that it can’t be racism because we are white and that doesn’t apply to us. The ride operator and the manager both were very condescending to all family involved that tried to help including our Grand mother who tried to assist. This ride and the employees that run it need to be looked into for poor conduct and overall biased decisions regarding who gets to do what on there rides. Very sad day for all involved. I thought the world was moving past this kind of behavior but apparently it’s just still lingering even at family establishments that are supposed to be the examples to our children of how they want individuals of different backgrounds, race and diversity to interact with...
Read moreWould have given 5 stars had we known riders must be 36inches or taller. We specifically went here because at the airport we saw a picture of this carousel. We had it up for my kid for two days before finding out that she can’t ride because she’s only 32 inches, we even measured her up against the measure and that confirmed it. She broke down crying and kept saying “carousel” all throughout the evening. She has literally been scarred for life or that of a life of a two-year-old. Please someone post signs and notifications this is...
