What a wonderful first visit. I was in town visiting my mom and we hit Barefoot Landing for lunch and shopping. My mom recommended that my first stop be the Savannah Bee Company. I love the bees so I didn't hesitate to walk in. First, the space is open and clean and neat. Next, I loved the variety of products. I'm a candle person so I appreciated the large variety of beeswax products. I picked up a box of tea lights to try out. The totes caught my eye and I grabbed the logo tote. Then onto the honey. Oh, so many options and flavors. I settled on the whipped honey as I had seen so many social media videos about whipping honey. However, having it done for me was an added bonus. I immediately walked over to the sample counter and Micah gave me a warm welcome. He gave me a sample of the "plain" whipped honey and it was delish. I then asked about the sunflower whipped honey and he expertly shared that it technically wasn't whipped and that the whipped effect was just how the honey worked with sunflowers. It was also delicious. I then saw the chocolate and had to try it because, well, chocolate. Micah handed me the sample and waited for my reaction. I was in heaven. He then smiled and shared that if I liked the chocolate then I needed to try the cinnamon. I was game and he handed me the sample and he was spot on. It, too, was yummy. After the sampling, I grabbed jars of the whipped honey and then strolled through the rest of the store. Again, such a wide variety of products. I dare say there is something for everyone. As I was wrapping up my stroll, I came upon the honeycombs with live bees. I smiled in glee and stood their for a bit watching these wonderul creatures do their work. Finally, it was time to go. Micah was my cashier and he invited me to join the "rewards" program to earn points and order from my home in California. He was lovely and informative and gave me a warm departure. He created a long-time...
Read moreI've left a review for the broadway location, with nothing but good things to say, as we frequent Myrtle Beach often and looooove SBC! We decided to give this location another chance as we came to visit for spring break, and I think that's the last chance we give it, truly. We did not get acknowledged at this store, once, and it seems like there are weird relationships going on between the employees, that customers don't need to be made aware of through loud employees talking. From what we could tell, the "manager on duty" is the daughter of the highest up store manager, and that sounds like bad business practice to me. If that is truly the case, mom should have done a better job teaching customer service! We left without buying anything we wanted and drove the distance south to get what we wanted at the other location. EDITED TO ADD! It is a BEAUTIFUL location, the store is well organized and huge. BUT good employees make or...
Read moreWent in to Savanah Beach Co at Barefoot landing,. 1st, let me say my daughter & I have absolutely supported them since we stumbled into one, 5 years ago . We even buy the adopt a bee certificates. But today I went in to the one at Barefoot Landing…. The lady, Jan, was very rude. She offered us a taste of the honey’s, I picked up 2 of the 12oz jars that I wanted along w/a box of crackers. We were looking around the store & was headed to the register to checkout when she walked up to me”Here, huff, let me just put these over at the counter.” I told her nicely “it’s ok, I would prefer to carry them myself.” She literally took them out of my hands & proceeded to take them to the counter. Needless to say, I let her keep them. I will never be back to...
