UPDATE: I GOT HIT BY THE TORNADO IN VALLEY VIEW ON MAY 25, 2024. Tori called almost immediately to check on me and to see what they could do to help. Canton and the guys were out early Monday morning with all kinds of gear to assist in general clean up. Luckily, my 3 aquariums all survived completely intact, but there's no electricity for the pumps.. they brought a generator and hooked up my pumps and power filters before they left. They're returning tomorrow to pack up the fish to board at the store until my power is restored. They've become friends and now part of the family. This is so appreciated. They TRULY do go the extra mile for their friends and customers. ** . This has been my go-to for freshwater aquarium fish for over a year. Very knowledgeable staff and very patient with both customers and a new staff member. Even though busy, they will walk the entire store to find a certain fish if you forgot where it was. The prices are quite fair and it's not a super "pretty" store, but everything I've gotten from the pretty Dallas stores don't live their expectancy and the staff gives really bad advice, like telling me a crayfish (lobster) won't chase my exotic goldfish.. yeah.. the crayfish killed them. . I've not had any issues with TA. You won't please everyone who walks in your doors, but I've not had a bad experience here yet. My brother and his gf bought fish from them and drove all the way to Memphis, Tennessee and every fish made it to their new home alive and well.. after an 8 hour car trip. Great place to buy used aquarium...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI spent over $120 here on fish and supplies and within 24hrs all fish died. I had two water samples done and both passed. Before adding the fish to the brand new tank, I set it up with their solution they sold me. They tested the water and it passed. Bought $60 worth of fish and by the next day, all my fish were dead. Attempted again with more fish and within less than 5hrs, those fish also died. They gave me feeder gold fish to see if those would make it and again within 3hrs those fish were also dead. I bought a brand new larger tank and gave it another shot and again by the end of the night the fish were dead. My beta from PetSmart is going strong though and itās it the exact style tank I put the first batch in. Donāt worry, I was refunded $8 for neon tetras that died within 2hrs of having them but the $60 worth of Barbs I bought, thatās a loss. They āreplacedā them with fish that also died. So Iām not sure where the replacement was because now I own a $150 tank and now Iām spending more on fish elsewhere because all my fish died from here. I highly suggest getting your fish from somewhere else. The 5 star reviews are most likely friends and employees because they canāt be from customers. I really wanted to love this place because the girl I dealt with in the beginning was so amazing but in the end Iām out money and having to spend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really like this store, and i will continue to come, but my patience is wearing thin in certain spots. My biggest problem with this store is that its full of staff and only 2 who REALLY know what they are doing. If there are more, i apologize, but you never step forward and offer to help, so im not sure if there are more. I wanted to talk to someone knowledgeable, but they are always super busy...so i get stuck with someone who, every time i ask a question, has to go ask for the answer.....Not good. I mentioned the parasites to the kid helping me, and he goes "yea well we sell fish that just eat those." ok, so what if those fish dont play well with my fish? There are all sorts of repercussions that come with accepting those parasites. Im new to aquariumand fish care, so im just now learning what was about to happen had i gotten parasites in my tank! Other than those couple things, it has been good so far. Almost all of my fish have survived for long periods of time. Please store owner...just hire and retain knowledgeable staff and get them all up to par, and your store will...
