I am a new Dungeon Master. My group of 5 people and I have been playing DND pretty much weekly since August. We will no longer be playing at this store.
Every time my group is at Crimson, most employees are playing games in the main area and are pretty much indistinguishable from customers. Each of my players is required to pay $5, and I as the DM receive $4 of it (which I usually spend on snacks or other items to help the game or my players). Getting my âDM Moneyâ and having my players pay up for the space is always such a chore. They make it so difficult to even check out. Frequently, I have to find who I think is the owner, and ask him to check us out. He makes it seem like I am bothering him to get the snacks for my friends or have them pay to play. It should not be a burden on the store employees to do their job and collect revenue for the business. It seems like they would rather sit around and play games than work. However, there is one employee that always takes care of us and is friendly and professional when he is there, which is maybe once or twice a month.
It seems like DND is treated as a second-class game at the store, I usually feel like I am intruding on something when I come to play. The store feels cliquey and as âoutsiders,â we have never felt welcomed. I was greeted upon entering the store one time in the past 3 months, and it wasnât even by an employee.
There was a scheduling issue a few weeks ago wherein they told my group that we would have to go to another store because they have a âhouse tableâ that meets once a month. We received this notice that our 6:30 game will not be accommodated at noon the day of. I reached out to âEmâ who is not an employee but is in charge of DND at the store (?) in a good-faith attempt to rectify the situation and scheduling issues and received no reply.
As mentioned above, will we no longer be playing...
Read moreShowed up at 2:30 waited for an event to start at 3 packs weren't handed out till 3:20 if advertised at a specific time the events should start at that time.this is my second event that had issues with not starting on time at this location don't think its proper to advertise @3 but no we wait not to fill up we had 10 players but to wait for your buddies to get to the shop is when we start handing out the packs you payed for. And then when i asked for a refund so i can leave and take my business a place that honors times was combated with an angry woman behind the counter giving snarky remarks cause i requested my money back. As i walked out very condescending âwell i hope you have a good dayâ all because I wanted my money back. Would not recommend going to for any events seeing if you aren't honoring times why accept peoples money for that event and have them travel so that u can start...
Read moreCan't even buy anything here without the workers having to moving. Came back numerous and still left empty and frustrated. What's even the point of having 2 registers? Came back with the benefit of the doubt but man, this is just bad. They have some decent selection of a few things and some good card pulls for sale in display but it's going to take forever for them to provided some assistance. Had 1 man running the whole thing and the rest with employee lanyards are just idling around. Help the customers and save the chit chat for later. It's frustrating. I wanted to support a close local store but Ive read similar reviews but man didn't want to believe it. Came here hoping for a good experience but its its just not...
