J P Donuts & Coffee — Restaurant in North Richland Hills

We discovered this shop a couple years ago when going to Sunday Mass nearby. Now we drive all the way from Keller to get these donuts (passing many other shops along the way). My husband and I both agree that they are the best donuts we've ever had. Our family likes the simple classics (plain, cake/sour cream, glazed, an occasional maple/bavarian long john or frosted, etc). While you can basically get the exact same tasting classic donuts from every/any "Donut" shop that are in every strip mall in every city, JPs somehow manages to blow those places out of the water. I mean WAY WAY BETTER. I don't know if they cook their donuts slightly longer? Maybe that combined with a better dough recipe? They are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's insane. What I would do for them to move closer to where we live... But then I'd probably be 300lbs so I guess their location is good for me.

Go here. Just don't buy out all the classics on Sunday morning...

Not unhappy with the service, however today the owner didn't show up until 10 min till 5:00 am. He told me that they only had the cake donuts and sausage rolls available and they were obviously from the day before. Not what I was really wanting...and had to pay full price too. He told me that he got there at 3:30, but I saw no activity while I was sitting outside since 4:15. The place was dark, he turned on the lights and unlocked the door at 5:00am. I gave him a few minutes to see what he would have ready, and that's what I got.......day old products. The sausage rolls were hard and the cake donuts were not very good either. This set me back, and I wish that I had gone down the street and bought some fresh ones for the price . YUK

I come here about once a week when i drop my kid off at school. The donuts are always fresh and delicious. Its my favorite local donut shop. The lady is so kind and a ray of sunshine and the donuts are cheap. The only thing i would say is I wish some of the donuts didn't have glaze, i dont like too much sugar.they do have one old fashioned cake donut thats not glazed and that one is good but i wish they made some options of the other cake donuts not glazed.not everything needs so much sugar especially when drinking with a sweetened coffee its good to have a kind of plain bread.(thats just a tip for...
