I approached the Beauty Counter and waited for the employee to finish with a customer before asking the lady at the Beauty counter if she had fragrances by a particular designer. She pointed to the locked case and said, "Yes, they are right here." Seeing what I wanted, I was about to ask her for the fragrance. A man approaches, ignores me standing there and asks the woman if he can check out at that counter since he and his wife didn't want to stand in the line at the front. With no regard for me or that she would be happy to help them once she finished with me, the woman tells him, "Yes." and proceeds to checkout the man, leaving me standing there wondering, "What the heck just happened here? Wasn't she helping me? How did we move from me about to ask for a fragrance out of the locked cabinet, so I could make the purchase, to standing there waiting for what I now perceive to be a quite rude man and his wife to get checked out, by a customer-service-clueless employee. And I still don't even have the fragrance so I could purchase at another counter...like the pharmacy, photo or front counter to purchase? The beauty counter employee looks over at another Walgreens employee across the aisle to share that the line in the front was moving slowly. Neither of these two bother to call for help at the front. That's when I realized that my transaction would have been completed rather quickly, while the rude people (employee and customer) were still trying to check out. I left the counter with intentions of picking up the one other item I came for. The employee turns to tell me I can come back to the counter any time. WHAT???!!!! She moves in front of me someone who did not want to wait in another line, she does not acknowledge that she has made the non-medical emergency decision to put someone before me, she makes me wait, and then spills a quip like that! That was the deal breaker for me! No Ma'am! No, thank you! I will not be returning...not to the counter and not to that particular Walgreen's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been coming to this location for years, never had an issue until now, the lady in the pharmacy(not the pharmacist) I donāt want to identify race but she had a great amount of tattoos up and down her and was young to say the least, well letās just say my experience there was awkward, very uncomfortable and a feeling of discrimination. She blatantly lied to me about my insurance being expired April 30, even after she seen that I had recently(as in the last 3 months)filled my prescription and had refills still on file. She pretty much lied to me and excused me with an Iām sorry in a very sarcastic way. I used my insurance last week at the ER so I knew she was lying, she spoke loudly that my insurance had expired, no discreteness whatsoever, I guess for me to feel embarrassed but I felt sorry for her ignorance. She didnāt offer any help or solutions or concern or care, she only wanted me go away from her counter. Her advice to me was I can find another pharmacy that accepts the one insurance that they no longer take(yet my other insurance that paid for the prior prescriptions w/last 3 months has NOWšexpired), I smiled and told her ok thank you. I also told her I would be transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy thanked her and walked away. I could of told her right then what I was feeling and could of taken it higher then her, but I decided not to and to completely swich my pharmacy. They would never hire someone with my skin color having that many visible tattoos NEVER EVER š¤ No professionalism or regard to company policy. Her customer service was very vauge but cocky, she was ready to turn me away for the one insurance they no longer took, but when I asked her about my secondary insurance on file, rather her giving me some satisfaction of feeling like Iām being helped and can get my meds, she didnāt want to be wrong in front of the other customers who seen her constantly deny me in every way, so she lied about my insurance being expired, yeah this experience was an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYikes! Well, the good things here outweigh the bad by a lot - friendly people, clean, and well stocked. The only caveat is this: if you're paying via debit card, the way their system works is it charges every penny you have in your account - and if the amount is over what your balance is, it STILL takes everything down to zero and then asks you to pay the difference (instead of declining the transaction).
Example: today I went in for cat food & extra big band-aids. They were both supposed to be on sale. I knew my secondary bank account only had $13 & change, but the sale proces would put both items at $12 something with tax. When I checked out, I wasn't watching closely and the cat food rang up at regular price. Even though the $14.43 debit was more than was in my account, the system charged my account down to zero, then asked me to pay the balance (less than a dollar).
It got worked out easily, but it did occur to me that this is an issue that could easily cause someone else big problems. A difference of even $5-10 can be a big deal to people on a restricted budget, and since this is NOT the usual way debit cards work, it would take most people by nasty surprise.
Just a heads up! Not a reason not to shop here at all - just keep an eye on the total and know...
