10 STARS😀 Do you like to break down your routine sometimes? Haven't you gotten bored of the same? Do you like fresh and handmade food better than frozen and fake food make up as "done at the moment", especially for pretty close the same price? Well, it's what happens to me all the time and it's difficult to find the right place. Have good news: I have found that gourmet, handmade, mildly seasoned and fresh food in this tiny restaurant called Tokyo, run by a Mexican guy who worked for over 20 years in gourmet Asian food restaurants in USA. This wonderful and friendly and humble owner of the restaurant and his team are gonna take care of you, friends and family as you were their most important guest and will take you on a journey that you won't want to get to the end. Believe me: I've never eaten a better Japanese food and I just became a fan of this place. On top of the exceptional menu courses, cooked sushi, and great service, this place even being small and humble, is cozy, romantic, private and always perfect for a couple getaway. Definitively recommend it, and suggest you don't lose the chance of trying something quite different that you are gonna want to come back to. And let...
Read moreIf I could rate it -5 stars I would. Where to start... first off if you want sushi, worst sushi I've had in Kentucky so far, so not fresh that if you sit at the bar, you can tell it was defrosted and never fresh, its sitting in styrofoam and plastic wrap at the bar. Second nothing was obviously fresh and had a terrible after taste. I intentionally ordered the 5 most expensive pieces of nigiri possible and they were coincidentally "out of stock" they clearly dont keep a clean standard to afford to, uni, and others. Additionally, they dont understand the concept of an appetizer as they came after the main course.l, and were worse than the entree, and did not do anything for my appetite. This place had no idea what they were doing, and I had to order 6 glasses of their top shelf whiskey in an ATTEMPT to get past the game flavor in their fish. The price isnt even close to justify the flavor. Stick to sapporo or Osaka, this place was the biggest waste of money in Kentucky so far, like I said, I needed 6 glasses of top shelf single malt to make it acceptable, and if I could give it 0 or negative...
Read moreWe had bulgogi beef, grilled shrimp and grilled calamari hibachi dinners. All were very good. Well prepared and well presented .Ample sized servings. We also had three desserts: micho ice cream. tempura ice cream and fried cheesecake. The mochi ice cream was the most unusual. Also all very good. Washed it down with some Kirin. Prices were moderate. Service was a bit spotty. They brought our salads and soup before bringing the steamed edamame appetizer, so we canceled the edamame. The owner was our waiter. He was very friendly and told us that they had taken over the restaurant less than a year ago. We will return and wish them success. Note: opening time on...
