Amour Nails — Local services in Northville Charter Township

I have gone to this salon on and off for several years even though the owner is sometimes very rude. I got a pedicure today and the nail tech dropped the nail polish brush on the floor ( you could see the line of red nail polish on the floor where it was dropped) and didn't clean off the brush or even wipe it off before she stuck it back in the bottle. That is completely unsanitary! I was so shocked I didn't say anything, but after my pedicure was over I told the owner Paige about it and rather than being apologetic, she made excuses that everyone makes mistakes and drops things and rudely asked what I wanted her to do? I asked if she could take off the price of the bottle of polish so I could purchase another one and she said no. She offered to buy me another one which would've required me to waste time and gas driving over to the salon where I was treated badly again so I declined. I happen to always bring my own polish wherever I get a pedicure for touchups and she stated that I couldn't bring my polish again in the future which solved absolutely nothing and made no sense. The issue was not that the nail tech dropped the brush but the fact that she didn't sanitize it or even at least wipe it off before sticking it back in the clean bottle. And apparently the owner is ok with that because her reasoning for not allowing me to bring my own polish again in the future was that she didn't want to have to buy me a new polish again. Why in the world would it happen again? Apparently the nail techs at her salon cannot be expected to remember to clean a brush that is dirty from falling on the floor before using it again. And with that reasoning it makes me wonder about the cleanliness of all of the polishes there and the salon in general. I paid for my pedicure and was even still going to leave a tip when the owner Paige further insulted me by saying that the nail tech didn't want my money. I decided to try a different nail place than I would usually go to. The place was very empty in the middle of a Monday afternoon and so I was helped right away which was nice. I told the nail stylist that I was getting my nails done for my engagement photos happening later that day. She was super nice and kind, although very quiet and did not say much.

She ended up doing a great job though and even meticulously trimmed off all my short stubs on the sides of every finger from picking at my nails. I'm pretty sure that's the first time any nail stylist has ever been so meticulous and thorough with this! Because of this, I am very pleased and would consider going there again.

Unfortunately though, and the reason for only 4 stars, she did cut my finger a bit on my engagement ring finger... Hopefully my photographer can photoshop that cut out of my...

I highly advise you not listen to the negative reviews. This salon is worth every penny. The owner is punctual, kind and very thorough. They use quality products and will complete your service in a timely manner. I have visited SO MANY salons in Novi/Northville/Livonia and I have NEVER had my dip last as long as they do from here. Their prices are comparable to salons in the area, no more or less, really. They do work off of appointments due to low staff - like everywhere you go, so it’s wise to prepare for yourself. You’ll miss out on a wonderful service at a wonderful nail salon (hard to find these days!) if you believe pant of the negative reviews.
