Hot Topic — Local services in Norwood Park Township

I wanted to write a review after visiting this Hot Topic. Usually when I go into a Hot Topic, they're playing garbage music and you wonder whether you walked into Claire's instead. This HT had a good music selection that I actually didn't mind being in the store for a little longer.

I was looking at body jewelry and Josh came up to ask me if I was finding everything alright. I told him I didn't see a lot of selection for 5/8" piercings and he went above and beyond trying to help me find piercings for that size, even going to the back of the store and checking if they had anything back there.

He brought up some jewelry and it wasn't for me, so he said he would let HT know that there is increasing interest in my size.

I also had an issue with my card, which Capital One blocked due to "fraud." I had to pay with a different card, but Josh and Cass were more than willing to process the return after I got the issue with Capital One resolved.

I wish my local Hot Topic was as welcoming, friendly and helpful. Actually makes me want to travel to HIP mall just to shop there. Shout out to Josh and Cass. You...

Don't really want to knock off stars because this place just isn't for me and that wouldn't be fair. Staff is nice, there's a large selection of shirts, and it's nice to see them attempt to recognize their punk/goth roots with their hall of fame shirt wall which at least has Ramones, Misfits, and one single The Cure shirt you've probably seen or bought elsewhere. Their black craft brand is often a huge hit and a miss. It's all silly Uber occult Instagram goth stuff with pentagrams all over the place. Blackheart is a decent brand with plenty of basics like jeans and dresses that you can "goth up" with your DIY stuff or accessories.

Gome are the days when this was the "goth store". No more joy division shirts, it's all replaced with Funko pops, anime, and Rick and Morty and forget about shopping here if you're a size 18 or bigger. Still I'll give credit where credit is due, all their plus size stuff is online and their selection is also really damn good and free store shipping is nice.

I’m so disappointed right now, I placed an order online at 1pm, it said to wait 3-4 hrs for your confirmation email when your order is ready, it is now 6:51p I still have yet to receive any email and went to store . They said they are very busy which I understand Bc of covid, but mind you I have a 3 pins in my right foot and was told to wait in line like everyone else?! What the actual F ? I ordered online so I don’t have to wait plus that’s against my medical orders to be standing waiting in line for 15mins when I already drove there and walked inside and back to my car! The girl brought me out 2 bottles and said they are here we just haven’t gotten to you yet, WOW really? Guess they don’t care about the handicapped either, NEVER EVER...
