Visited this Toys R Us today for the first time and last time (March 2025)

I was extremely excited to see that there was a new Toys R Us in the area as all of the stores closed down several years ago and it is something that has been very important to me as a child.

The store is a lot smaller than what a regular Toys R Us would be a few years ago which was unfortunate but expected since it’s in a mall. The store has a much more “modern” feel which I understand but also I feel like it is slightly unnecessary when everything else sucks. The selection is very bad which is really surprising considering that Toys R Us stores always had the best selection, I get that it is a smaller space but even popular brands have like 3 products on the shelf. The quality of some of the toys seems to be worse than other retailers? A good chunk of the Barbie dolls had very strange faces and extremely noticeable wonky eyes(factory rejects? cheaper versions?) DEFINITELY not the quality that a Toys R Us should have. A lot of the products on the shelf were fairly old and they didn’t have a lot of newer items which is something that Toys R Us is definitely not known for (used to have all of the new toys before all other retailers) Barely any workers in the store and the cashier was super rude and unfriendly for a primarily children’s store which I found strange. Prices were higher than other stores which was strange considering that the selection was so bad.

Overall, if they are going to open up more Toys R Us stores like this please don’t. They aren’t anything like what Toys R Us should be, and are overall just a pathetic excuse for a Toys R Us or toy store for that matter. The higher prices, unfriendly employees could all MAYBE be overlooked if they had a good selection, good quality, and nice atmosphere, etc but they DEFINITELY don’t anymore. Sad that kids these days won’t be able to grow up the same way. I’ll personally stick to Target, Walmart, Amazon, and even Kohls as they all have a way better selection and friendlier...

I would truthfully rate 0 out of 10 if I could. There is no posible way to call corporate. I tried to fix things with the manager before making a bad review but he lied to me,my wife and my daughter in our faces. When we tried to return a supper cheaply made kitchen toy set including cardboard toys and brittle toy parts he said he couldn’t refund because it was policy and he explained to all customers the toy would fall apart and it was our fault . No one ever explained that to us. He then said if he did refund it, it would be in a gift card and he would give us way less money then what we had spent for an unexplained reason .We did not agree for obvious reasons. So we decided to just exchange for a Barbie scooter and a baby swing to not loose our money. Moving forward ,the Barbie scooter is also defective and when asking the manager if he could please make it work or exchange it since there was no refunds and that’s the one my daughter wanted he said said just bring it back for a refund.

He said the store policy was no refunds before.

This whole problem could have been resolved with a refund before he lied to us .

Never waste your money at this Toys “R” Us. I bought a kitchen set thinking it would be decent quality, but it turned out to be absolute garbage. The so‑called “food” inside was just cheap cardboard, even though the display model had nice plastic food to trick customers. Also the kitchen set broke apart when picking it up if I wanted that to happen I would of gotten it from temu. When I tried to return this overpriced piece of junk, they refused. To make it worse, they claimed they “warn customers” about how bad it is. Funny how the bald guy who told me this was near the cashier didn’t say a single word at the register I guess honesty isn’t part of the job here. This place is all about false advertising, cheap products, and zero accountability. To make this experience worse the store itself was trashed toys in the floor everywhere and it was filthy. Save your money and shop literally...
