UPDATE My wife made an appointment for 10 for the lady that has cut my sons hair in the past. (I told her I wouldn't go back because of last time.) Apparently the person she had an appointment with had a family emergency and wouldn't be in. Understandable. So she waited for next available. After making her wait for 50 minutes, they informed her that they had no one there that could cut his hair (He is mixed race so the curls are hard for people to figure out I guess.) Really? It took you almost an hour to figure out nobody there could cut his hair? They didn't know that hour ago? That's twice Lady Janes has refused service to us. So I guess their "award winning stylists" can't cut black peoples hair. Not in Wixom at least.
I went to get my son and I's haircut today at just before 2:00. They close at 5 on Sunday. I was told they were already booked for the day and weren't taking anymore customers. 3 hours before close with 4 people working. I understand they were busy and also had online appointments (she informed me 12 waiting and 6 online), but she didn't even offer me a wait time. I only drive all the way over there because my wife likes the way they cut my youngest sons hair. Ironically, the Sunday before, my older son who was home on leave needed a haircut before going back. At Great Clips just up the road in New Hudson, with every waiting room chair but two full (we took them), and at 5 minutes before close, they were courteous and glad to cut his hair. 5 minutes before close. NOT 3 hours. You'd think with all the relentless radio ads being played over and over ad nausam that Lady Jane's would need every customer it could get. The good news is they don't need my business because they are far too busy. The better news is that with Great Clips, Sports Clips, Salon Universal, Fantasia Cut and all the other places nearby that want my money I won't have to deal with Lady...
Read moreI am so angry, frustrated, disappointed with this location today. I've had my hair cut here 3 or 4 times this year. I came to a men's place because the stylists know clipper cuts better than other places because they do many of them daily. The styles I like involve clipper cuts on the sides & back, and they have done a perfect job every time I've been here.....that is until today. I came at 530pm knowing they close at 6pm, their sign says walk-ins welcome. They should include a disclaimer stating that if you walk in and were too busy or it's 15 minutes before closing then we cannot help you, but they don't have any such disclaimer. I guess it's at the discretion of whomever is working. I was told at 530pm they couldn't serve me because there was 1 man already waiting and I could hear someone else in the back getting service. So I was aware there were 2 employees, 1 cutting and the other just crushing my day. So am I to believe that with 2 employees and 2 customers in the business at 530pm that there was no way possible to fit me in for a basic haircut.....???? I have short hair as it is, I needed a trim & clean up actually. If servicing me would have had me inside the business until 605 or 610pm, would that be such a huge problem? If I owned a business like this i would not have turned away making $25 plus a tip for the stylist. But maybe the owner of this place don't care about his revenue. Well that's fine with me, they have lost my business, I won't be back. And because it was going on 6pm I could not find another place open or the ones that were open were too busy. All the employee could say was making an appointment on their app and she was sorry...... I'm 60, I don't do apps but your business said walk ins welcome but...
Read moreKayla has been cutting my hair and beard once a week, for nearly 5 years now as the joke is that I must eat miracle grow with how quickly my hair regrows. I used to have a Marine high and tight for years and she always did it wonderfully. By the end of me having that cut, she was the only one that I trusted to do it correctly. I now have a Mohawk and she has been doing the upkeep to it once a week. My hair and beard no longer feel like a bristle pad because she got me using product in them.
My hair likes to be difficult - certain parts will grow back as different textures, different colors, etc.. As obnoxious as it is, Kayla has been able to identify these when they come up and cut my hair accordingly in order to make everything blend correctly.
She listens to what you want, is funny, witty, knowledgeable and skilled in what she does.
10/10...
