Williams-Sonoma — Local services in Novi

I would give zero stars if I could. Every time I have visited this store, I have left feeling angry and frustrated. The folks who work here are not informed about their own sales. The salesperson insisted the item I was interested in was not on sale, even though the sign and the online catalogue indicated otherwise. They have tried to reject coupons emailed to me. I had to insist they try typing in the code in order to get the discount. Recently, I went in to exchange a gift I received and was told I would have to wait 7-10 days to receive a gift card in the mail. Nowhere on the receipt or on their online return policy does it state that you have to wait 7-10 days to be able to exchange a return. Ridiculous! The store has my family member's money and the returned merchandise. Sadly, the items I was exchanging are seasonal and on sale. By the time I get the gift card, they will likely be gone and/or will no longer be on sale. What a shame...I am a long time WS customer. I won't be shopping...

Williams Sonoma is the dream store for bakers and cooks, but it is often very crowded and difficult to navigate. However, once a sales associate is "mine," I get wonderful customer service. Most recently I called in an order, and the manager (Merici) helped me over the phone with a difficult to find item, gave me all rebate information, and directed me to WS package pick-up! So, I was good to go without having to park during the busy holiday - THAT is what I call awesome service. The people who work here are very knowledgeable, and also know which companies will not allow discounts on their products, so you don't have to worry about shopping around to find the best price. If you want actual service you have to dress-up it seems. I've spent quite a lot of money here between KitchenAid purchases, various knives, etc, but every time I come in wearing street clothes the service is bad. I went in today to get a springform pan. It was an impromptu visit after going to the grocery store, so I was dressed very casually. I wandered around the entire store and nobody offered to help once, however, people who came in after me were helped right away.
