Update: Had a conversation with the owner (I guess) after this took place, he pretty much had the same mindset as the previous gentleman I spoke with, unfortunately. He said, what would we gain from adding negative comments to your account, to which I replied, what would I gain from placing an order as a full grown adult that lives very close to the restaurant and not picking it up. Again, keep blaming the customer. He said he would follow up, never heard back. Oh, and I found a text message from 12/1 (last visit, as I stated) where I told my husband I picked my food up. Hmm so how did those notes get in my account, I’m sure it was one of the employees that processed my payment (I remember having an exchange with a rude employee this day as well), but they’ll never admit to that. Moral of the story is, I’ll spend my money where it’s appreciated, where I don’t have to worry about employees adding negative info to my account, accusing me of not picking up food, and where leadership is going to hold their employees accountable. The odds of someone magically providing my phone number and name to place an order is absurd…
Just had an interesting situation take place. Called to place an order over the phone, was placed on hold after the young lady took my phone number, which was strange. A gentlemen Shawn comes to the line and informs me that he can’t take my order because an order was placed under my phone number and not picked up. I’m totally shocked because I’ve never done such a thing. I tried explaining this to the gentleman, he unfortunately did not want to hear it, nor did he offer to help me make it right. I mean, anyone can call call and provide any phone number, people also have their identities stolen every single day, people also make mistakes. I know first hand that his employees make mistakes from previous orders I’ve placed, but did that stop me from patronizing the business NO. I asked for corporate’s number, he tells me there is no corporate number. I asked for the GM’s number, he advised that he is the GM. I asked who does he report to, you guessed it, he doesn’t report to anyone, I asked so are you the owner, guess what, he’s a “partner”. He advised me to go to the website and complete a form that’s ultimately going to be routed back to their location, right and the issue won’t be resolved. I get that someone called and provided my number “allegedly”, or perhaps it was a typo by one of his employees, stuff happens, but guess what, I can take my business and hard earned money elsewhere and you should too if you want to be treated with dignity...
Read moreI'll start by saying that Novi desperately needs good burger options so I was excited that this place was opening. I've been to Sedona Taphouse 3 times. The first time was for drinks at the bar, which were great. Beer selection is good and the bartender is attentive. The second and third time was for lunch and I'll have to say that by and large, the food is just OK. For the price ($13+ for a burger and a side) my expectations are that the burgers are as good or better than, say, a Red Robin. The buns are interesting, the hangover burger I had today had a puffy potato bun. The beef patty itself was also pretty tasty and was well cooked. But there's something about the combinations they have that are just kinda ... Unsatisfying? Their specialty burgers are honestly not that special, and if you're goinf pay $13 for a standard cheeseburger, why not just go to five guys?
Here's a different way to explain this: my family of four went to lunch today. We got 2 classic cheese burgers, a hangover burger, and a kids mac and cheese. We paid freaking $62 with tip and no one left saying that they were excited about their meal. The take away is that it's good, but not for what you pay, which is honestly enough to make me not want to go back.
Also, I got the "steamed broccoli" as a side instead of fries. I legit got 2 broccolis. Just 2! See what I mean?
Service was great, a manager brought out extra broccoli 😂 but this place is just not as put together as a $62...
Read moreNever got a chance to try the restaurant. We called ahead and was told there was no wait. Not even 10 minutes after that phone call we entered the restaurant just to be told there was a 15/20 minute wait and the hostess said it was her “manager” who told us it was not a wait. Upon adding our names to the wait list we told the hostess we had an party of 5. This party included 3 adults, 1 child, 1 infant. Due to having a party of 5 or more there’s an automatic 20% gratuity added to your bill. That was not explained to us until our table was ready and I feel like the policy should have been stated right away but it wasn’t nor was it posted in plain view either. We requested to speak to a manager and asked about this policy and stated to her technically our party was really of 4 because our infant wasn’t being serviced and the manager proceeded to say they count all parties regardless of being serviced or not. So I’m not sure if they are pushing the 20% because it’s holiday season or this is an actual policy. The only good thing I can say was good thing they told us before we actually received services despite the fact I felt she should have said it as soon as we were putting our name on the wait list. We was actually very geeked to try this restaurant considering this would have been our first time dining at this restaurant but very disappointed in the way this situation...
