I’ve gone back and forth on leaving this review but I ultimately decided that the whole point of a platform like this is to share your experience with a business. I ordered an acrylic seating chart and signature drink sign through JCs Art Design for my wedding. My wedding took place during the two week period that they would be closed for the holidays. That was not an issue to me since I made sure to get them everything they needed in time for production and in the time frame they requested. I was extremely mindful of their closure date to ensure that they had ample time to complete my order. That was definitely not reciprocated since I had to keep emailing them to receive a draft from the design team. I finally received a digital mock up of my designs two days before they closed for the holidays. I had to arrange after hours pick up because the signage was finally completed at 12:30pm on their last day open before closing at 2pm for two weeks. When I picked up my signage, I immediately noticed the holes in the acrylic I requested on top of the seating chart were not there. Upon further inspection, I realized that the completely wrong material was used and my seating chart was on foam board (I paid for acrylic). I reached out to the business via email asking how we can fix this problem. In the meantime, I attempted to solve the problem myself by adding holes to the foam board and hanging it on the expensive frame I purchased for it. Unfortunately, the weight couldn’t be beared on the board since the foam was not durable enough. I also noticed spelling mistakes and spacing errors on the printed portion of the seating chart. When I heard back from JCs, they told me that they could not fix the board because they are closed for two weeks and I would only get a partial refund for the difference in cost of the acrylic and foam. They stated that this happened due to the “craziness of the holidays”. Personally, that does not excuse what happened especially when I needed this for my wedding in less than a week. I felt I deserved a FULL refund if they were not willing to fix the material and printing issues in time for my wedding. On our second round of contact regarding the issue they asked for proof of the printing errors. Luckily, they were willing to give a full refund once pictures of the printing errors were provided. To be honest the wrong material being used should’ve been sufficient enough for a full refund. What happened does not only reflect poor time management but that they completely neglected to review the details of my order. I still had to come up with a plan B since a seating chart is essential for a 200 person wedding. Luckily, my florist is an AMAZING vendor and was able to have something made for me 5 days before the wedding. Not to mention, she coordinated this all with me a day before Christmas Eve and was flabbergasted that if the signage vendor wasn’t willing to fix it, how could they even question giving a full refund. This experience shed some light on how some businesses operate for money and some operate for customer satisfaction. I gave two stars instead of 1 because the bar sign was made correctly.    Read moreI enjoy supporting small businesses. I recently ordered a Betty Boop cake topper along with a 4 ft Betty Boop cardboard stand. The items were of good quality and matched my expectations very well. I received many compliments at my party as to how amazing the products looked. However, I encountered an issue with the stand as it did not come with any means to attach it to the cardboard, which led to a last-minute scramble to find tape. Given the price, I had expected this aspect to be hassle-free. Even with taping it, the stand wasn’t secure, it kept on falling down. I had to wedge it between the balloon for it to stay upright.
I rated my experience with 4 stars primarily due to the customer service concerns at the end. When approving the proof sent by Danielle, I had questioned the size, which appeared too small. Danielle responded positively, offering to make it larger, which was satisfactory to me. Despite agreeing to the new size, I did not receive secondary proof for approval. Instead, I received an unusual email regarding a bid, asking me to click a link. Upon questioning its relevance, I was informed it was my proof needing approval. Unfortunately, the link did not open despite multiple attempts, and later I received an alert from JC Arts stating their email had been hacked. This situation caused significant concern, prompting me to attempt contacting their office. Unable to reach anyone by phone, I followed the advice to text their number for assistance. I requested a call to confirm that I was indeed communicating with JC Arts Designs and not a Scammer. Surprisingly, I received a reply questioning the necessity of a call back, stating the order was almost complete. Despite my explanation and polite demeanor regarding my concerns, no call was made. The texts indicated difficulty in making calls due to loud machines running. As a paying customer, I believe a request for a phone call should be honored, especially under circumstances involving hacking incidents. As someone with 24 years of experience in the entertainment industry handling balloon decorations in NYC, I understand customer interactions well. Never would I question a customer's request for a call regarding their order. It is perplexing to see frequent video postings on their social media without issues from loud machines, yet they were unable to call me to address my concerns. We were fortunate to discover them through a friend’s referral and Instagram, especially since we didn’t have a wedding planner. The custom piece Jessenia created for us was the perfect design element that brought everything together and set the tone for our entire evening.
I had a specific vision in mind, and Jessenia was able to bring it to life with a detailed mockup that allowed us to review and refine the design before it became a reality. It was such a joy to watch our guests react to it during cocktail hour, and we loved how interactive it was—getting our guests involved in the fun added a special touch. I also really appreciated the transparent pricing and clear timelines, which made everything so much easier to plan. The team was incredibly flexible with special setup and delivery to our venue, and we felt fully supported throughout the process.
What really impressed us was their prompt responses and patience with all of our requested adjustments—like font sizing and drink selections—along the way. And the final piece? It exceeded all of our expectations.
We can’t recommend Jessenia and her team enough for anyone looking to elevate their event. We’re already looking forward to working with them again...
