Busy spot on a Sunday. Wait line was long so I went with takeout. I got the Steak and Eggs and GF got the French Toast. Steak and eggs was pretty good, decent amount of steak and two eggs cooked the way you want. The steak was very underseasoned, little salt and pepper and maybe some garlic and butter would go a long way here. The potatoes that came with it on the side were delicious, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The French toast was pretty good as well but they forgot to include any syrup on it or on the side. I had real maple syrup at home so it wasn't a big deal but people on the go would be frustrated. The French toast was nice brioche bread and very spongy so it soaked in all the syrup and was absolutely delectable with each and every bite. I also had the Americano and that was fine, I've had better but it was a decent cup and I had no complaints. It was a good experience overall, just wish they would season the steak a little better next time.

Cute little Cafe/ diner in Nutley. We were eagerly greeted when we walked in at 2:30 PM on a Wednesday. It was.not terribly crowded, and we were invited to sit anywhere. We sat in the main room. There is also counter seating when you walk in and outdoor seating. We started with mozzarella sticks, as well as a couple of beverages (hot chai and Creamsicle smoothie). For lunch, we had a BLTA (minus the bacon, which they were kind enough to deduct from the cost) and a chicken Caesar wrap with fries. Each sandwich comes with a pickle and red cabbage (tasty). We both enjoyed our food, and the staff is nice. The bathrooms are single person, and the ladies' room was clean and has a changing table. Aldo, paper towels instead of the air dryers (I hate those). If I'm in the area, would definitely visit again.

We kind of just visited by chance. The location, ambiance, and old style vibes are definitely unique and worth visiting. We visited on a weekday so it was very low-key and serene. Service was absolutely friendly, attentive and very quick. It definitely had the make up of a great experience but here I am writing this just about a week out and I am unable to remember our meal. I can recall all these other details which speak volumes about the service and location. Unfortunately, while we enjoyed our meal, it was not memorable or anything out of the ordinary. I would say it's a good breakfast spot and worth a shot if in the area. I know I will give another shot if I am ever nearby just solely based on the staff and atmosphere.

Im always looking for new cute local spots to enjoy a good American breakfast. Brought 3 of my friends here to try something new as we discussed some business.

Saturday morning all of us were suffering from all of the wonderful symptoms of a food borne illness. Id rather not list them but lets just say we have not eaten or drank for days. I even had to seek out the Urgent Care for anti nausea meds.

The only thing we had in common was the eggs and bacon at this cafe— we all went our separate ways after and were supposed to meet for a hike the next day. It was a shame none of us made it to our plans the next day.

I called to discuss the matter and I was met with “managers are in Florida and we’re not sure when they’ll be back” and “well no one else has called to report anything”. Honestly I only called cuz its been 5 days and I still cant eat, because I wouldn't usually call either.

Initially my thoughts were what a cute place, cute menu, great lattes. Cant wait to return.. all the great things.. But now I would ask u to enter at...

One of the worst service I have ever encountered. I usually recommend Chestnut Cafe, but no longer. The waitress asked in a very unprofessional tone, “what do you want?” And it just went downhill from there. I could elaborate on at least 8 instances of why we won’t go there again. I asked for water without lemon, she brought the water over, picked the lemon off the glass in front of me rather than bring me a glass of water when Toni lemon. She never asked if we wanted more coffee or top-ups; another server had to be flagged down and asked; he was very pleasant. When I asked to see a menu because I wanted to know the individual prices, the waitress refused to give me a menu, she just gave me the whole bill for the table. I asked again for a menu; she did not oblige. This was a place we used go to for special occasions, and I am sorry to say this is taken off our list. We used to love it for the atmosphere, friendly staff and nice food. I am sad to say, things have...
