Magic Nails — Local services in Nutley

Sadly I have gone to do my nails at this location periodically with my daughter or mom. However, I have experienced discrimination by the owner as I am requested to wait with an appointment while as cocassian ladies arrived as walk ins after me and taking care immediately. You can feel the difference. It is hurtful and offensive. At first I thought I was over reacting but after experiencing it at different occasions and with different relatives of mine as the joined me. It was cleared. I took my mom who is 65 to do a mani and pedi and we had an appointment at 6:00pm. Arrived early. When it was my mother’s turn the owner skipped her on purpose and asked one of his worker to take the cocassian lady with an appointment for 6:30pm. So hurtful my mom left and waited in the car until I finished. Never again. I will not recommend this place to anyone whose...

Went here for the first time because I needed to find a new nail salon. I went for a gel manicure, which they told me was $35, and when I requested matte polish, they decided to tell me at the end when my nails were already painted that it was an extra $5 for the matte polish. Plus, when the gel was curing under the UV light, I got horrible heat spikes that burned the hell out of my finger tips so much that I involuntarily pulled my hand out and said ow. The nail tech then said “it’s not that bad” and told me to put my fingers back in. Really rude. This hurt beyond the normal amount of burning that happens during a Gel Mani, and I’m too nice to just walk out in the middle of the appointment. I wanted a sheer pink gel color. The color was not in the basket, so they suggested 2 options. The first was completely off. As usual, I was rushed so I went with the 2nd color thinking that it was in the shade range I wanted. After leaving, I realized the color was a frosty pink that was not appealing at all.

I came back the very next morning to get the right color and was charged $15! Really disappointing, as I've been a regular customer since 2017 and they know me on a 1st name basis.

Needless to say, this is my last time coming here...I'll be taking my business...
