Sit down folks, let me tell you about my first experience at Emilio’s Wood Fire Pizza.

You should come here - immediately. Like today. It is that good.

In a town with multiple fantastic pizzerias and Italian Restaurants, Emilio’s has somehow found a way to stand out. To start, you get a different vibe here then you do these other established places in town. You walk in, and are immediately greeted by the family running the joint. When I say family, I mean the whole family. Mom, sisters, and brother running the place giving you that family-run atmosphere that so many Italian places lack. They will chat you up, and make you feel welcomed. Such wonderful people that you can tell put their heart into this business.

The menu is not over bloated with uninspired items and unnecessary additions that have no place. This place is well aware that they are a pizzeria and try to be nothing else.

I started with the Mozzarella Caprese, which was fresh and wonderful. When finished, my plate was milky and wet - showing the quality of the mozzarella. This is clearly homemade and not prepackaged like so many places try and get away with. Fresh basil was extremely rich and added so much to the dish, rather than just being there just because. No wasted ingredients in anything I ate.

The pizza. Lets talk about the pizza. I ordered the Hot Honey pie (I’m a sucker for hot honey). The pie came with spicy soppressata, which was such a fantastic addition. Again, fresh fresh fresh ingredients. Everything is clearly imported from the motherland and it adds so much depth and quality to the pizza. The cook on it was magical. The char and bitterness of the dough mixed with the sweetness of the hot honey and soppressata. When finished, I was given the ultimate sign of a great pizza place - blackened fingers, due to how well the pizza is cooked. Casuals will call it “burnt” but real pizza lovers know how much a quality char can add to a pizza. I was honestly blown away by how damn good the pizza was.

Upon completion of my meal I was greeted with every Italian’s favorite question after a good meal - “coffee or espresso?” The espresso came with a piece of biscotti which again, is such a great touch to an already fantastic meal. It’s the little things that are done here that really allow it to shine.

To sum up Emilio’s, and as the chef said “we do a lot with a little.” I think that is the best way to sum up this establishment. What it lacks in size and flare, it makes up with quality ingredients and good company. Italian as it gets.

I would recommend Emilio’s to anyone who loves a good meal. I give it five 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Emilio’s wood fire pizza, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. This place has truly set the bar high for what a perfect dining experience should be.

The Food First and foremost, the pizza was simply divine. Each slice was a symphony of flavors, with a perfectly crispy crust, rich and tangy tomato sauce, and the most delectable combination of toppings. The cheese was melted to perfection, creating that ideal stretch with every bite. We tried a variety of their specialty pizzas, and every single one was a hit. The freshness of the ingredients was undeniable, and the balance of flavors was impeccable.

The Drinks The drink menu was equally impressive. They offered a fantastic selection of beverages. I opted for their blood orange soda, and it was an absolute delight. The soda is perfect!!

The Customer Service What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional customer service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring that our glasses were never empty and our needs were always met. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations. It's clear that they take pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers' experiences.

The Ambiance The ambiance of [Pizza Place Name] was the cherry on top. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a perfect blend of modern decor and rustic charm. It was the ideal setting for both a casual dinner with friends and a more intimate date night. The lighting was just right, and the music added a wonderful background without being too loud.

Overall In conclusion, [Pizza Place Name] exceeded all of my expectations. The food was outstanding, the drinks were top-notch, and the customer service was unparalleled. It's rare to find a place that excels in all aspects of the dining experience, but [Pizza Place Name] manages to do just that. I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're looking for a pizza place that offers not just great food, but a truly memorable experience, look no further than [Pizza Place Name]. I'll definitely be...

Emilios is a great place, with great pizza, great vibes, and great staff!

This is a small, but very impactful place! A local favorite for many, as it can get pretty busy here at times. They have some seating inside and when it is nice outside, there is a good space for more outdoor seating. I always suggest calling ahead to try and reserve a space, just in case it is a very busy night!

As for the food, I always have had good food here! Their speciality is pizza, but do not take their wings (or as they say "Wangz") for granted. Typically on Wednesdays (also double check this if you plan to leverage it when you call to reserve), if you purchase a pizza, you can then unlock the ability to get $1 wings!

For the Wangz specifically, my favorite is the Cracked Black Pepper ones. These wings typically are not small and have a good amount of meat in them! The flavor of the pepper blends goes very well with them!

For the pizza, I have tried many of their speciality pies. Some of my favorites include:

Hot Julia - Red pie w/ Pepperoni, Riccota & Pecorino cheeses, Basil, & Hot Honey Spicy Calabrese - White pie w/ Gargonzola, Nduja (spreadable pork sausage) & Calabrian Chillies Prosciutto & Argula - Red pie The Otto - Red pie w/ Anchovies & Capers

These pies are made Neapolitan style and the dough has great flavor! If Neapolitan your style of pizza, you will enjoy it here!

Oh and even if the menu does not mention it, they do serve dessert! Ask your server with what they have for the night! I really enjoy the styles of gelato they rotate...

This hidden gem restaurant has some of the BEST Neapolitan pizza in New Jersey! 📍Emilio’s Wood Fire Pizza in Nutley is perfect for your next date night or meal out! @emilios_woodfirepizza 🍅We started with the wood fire meatball appetizer for $15, which is cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. These did NOT disappoint! 🍕For our main course, we ordered two of the 12-inch Neapolitan pizzas which were both incredible. The “Bianco & Verde” pie, for $19, is full of flavor from the fresh pesto sauce and ricotta cheese being smoothered on top. My favorite pie was “The Olivia”, for $20. The decadent flavor of caramelized onions, bacon, and mascarpone cheese is an incredible combination! I need to go back ASAP to get this specific pie again because it is that amazing!😍 🍫For dessert, we got the special of the day which was a light cream with chocolate sauce, biscuits, and cocoa powder. 📌The atmosphere is cozy and on the smaller side. This restaurant can get quite busy on weekends and it is recommended to make a reservation! 📌Emilio’s is currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. 📌The service is 10/10 and we had a great experience dining here! ‼️Don’t forget to follow for more restaurant recs and things to do in and around New Jersey and the Northeast! #newjersey #northjersey #njeats #northjerseyeats #newjerseyfood #newjerseyrestaurant #neapolitanpizza #italianrestaurant #nutleynj #explorenj #visitnj #njpizza
