The girl at the front today with short brown hair was so rude. I came in looking to buy a shorter post back for an earring I purchased at Rowan, that cost me $200. I had a great experience at the Cleveland, Ohio location and thought I would just pop into the store here at oak brook since I was told that I can just buy the titanium post backās for $5 each if I wanted to get them shorter and told me the length I could ask for if I wished to buy them another time. I didnāt get my ears pierced here, just bought the jewelry. She told me I would need to pay $50 to get the posts inserted and that it was too complicated to just give them to me since they have so many different lengths. I donāt understand why me buying the backs is an issue, if I buy the wrong length then thatās my waste of money, how does it affect her at all? I know what length I need from previous purchases of earrings at Rowan. The length was too long for this post I got and keeps catching on my hair or clothes. She was very dismissive and when I nicely asked her to explain why I couldnāt just buy the backs, as advertised in store and online, she said I could make an appointment for 3 hours later or she canāt help me. She told me after talking to her for literally 1 minute if I wanted to make an appointment or if she could move on to the next customer. I felt rushed and dismissed, and when I spend $200 on earrings I donāt need to pay an extra $50 to change them out. You donāt need a nursing degree to change your earrings out. Really disappointed by this location, especially when I drove 40 minutes to get here. She was rude to the other lady that was trying to book an appointment in the line in front of me as well. Iāve had such good experiences at Rowan but this experience has ruined it for me a bit. Why list the prices of buying a titanium post in the store if I canāt buy it⦠it seemed like she was just trying to squeeze an extra $50 out of me simply to put a back of an earring into my ear, which I am...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a very cute piercing boutique! I truly love that they sell quality grade earrings (that range in metals and stones) no piercing guns, they're cleanly, and are great with any questions and aftercare. I came here on a Saturday and pre-booked an appointment time (they say walk-ins are welcome but appointments preferred) and there were many slots open online as if they were wide open with availability. I wanted my helix (upper cartilage) re-pierced because about 20 years ago I did it myself with the wrong equipment (I do not recommend ever doing that). However, it still got pierced and is still open to this day, but found it needed to be bigger as I only was able to put regular earrings in it. Alma was great as she helped me decide what earring would be best because due to my terrible self piercing, the spot isn't exactly perfect & would not accommodate certain earrings. She did recommend getting it pierced in another spot, which I declined. I decided upon a gorgeous crawler that had 14k gold and diamonds. I am a wuss when it comes to pain, and was waiting to feel something when she went to "stretch" my piercing but I felt absolutely nothing. It was so quick and painless (which I'm sure isn't always the case if you're getting a brand new piercing through cartilage - trust me, it hurt when I did it myself 20 years ago). But I'm so glad I came here to get it done correctly. I still have almost no pain and previously, if I ever wore anything, it would hurt, so I know I did the right thing by coming here to get it rectified. My ONLY complaint and 4 stars is that they were PACKED and it was as if my appointment that I booked was for nothing as we still had to wait to be seen. As mentioned above, they had every time slot open online around the time I picked, so its easy to assume everyone already there were walk-ins (I booked it about an hour in advance) Otherwise, everything else was perfect....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOdd experience. We arrived a few minutes late to our appointment, and the staff member helping us immediately seemed annoyed. We understood we were late, but we had just walked in and were prepared to be flexible if they needed us to wait or reschedule.
When we began looking at options and pricing, two of us mentioned we were sticking to a budget and wanted to review everything before deciding whether to proceed with a piercing. While we were still discussing, our birthday friendāwho was with usāwas suddenly taken back for her piercing without much communication. We had mentioned beforehand that I was supposed to be her emotional support person, but I didnāt even know where they had taken her. When she asked if her friends could come join her, the nurse brushed off her question and didnāt really give a clear answer.
When we asked if we could go see our friend, they said yes, but by the time we got there, her piercing was already finished. We had canceled our appointments with the front desk by then, and when we let the nurse know, she made a passive comment like, āSo much for camaraderieā¦ā It felt judgmental and uncomfortable, especially considering how little communication there had been throughout.
There were several passive comments during our time there, and at checkout, they tried to upsell a tiny bottle of solution and discourage us from using saline solutionāeven though saline is widely recommended for aftercare if you look it up.
Overall, all four of us felt unwelcome and uncomfortable with every person we interacted with during our visit on 4/26. Also worth noting: they donāt list any cancellation policy on their website, and it didnāt seem busy while we were there ā no one else was getting...
