I was having difficulties with blue screen errors on my computer and brought it in to have them assist with wiping it and reinstalling Windows. They diagnosed the RAM sticks as the issue and removed them prior to installing Windows, but were unable to tell me which of the two removed were actually 'bad'. They also installed a number of additional software programs that I was not notified of ahead of time. I understand the purpose of the software and allowing Alpha Geeks to remote access my computer in case further follow-up was necessary, but I would rather it not have been installed on my computer, let alone without my permission. The software was password protected, so I ended up reinstalling windows again on my own in order to remove it. Overall it left a bad taste in the mouth. They also told me that there was an issue with the hard drive that limited the capacity of it, but were unable to correct it. It took me 30 minutes of research to fix it myself. Read moreI just had Tom do some add on work for me and my 5 star opinion stays the same. You cannot go wrong with the level of service, integrity, response, quality and price. Here is my review from a year ago—it still stands! Alpha Geeks is FIRST-RATE--I trust them with my business (and livelihood)--I've been their ongoing customer for 10 years now and can say they have ALWAYS been there for me--smart, effective--they fix the problem or head it off. They are also courteous and totally responsive. I cannot say enough at how helpful and kind they have been--they go above and beyond for me each and every time. I cannot tell you what a relief it is for me to know I have them in my corner, watching over my IT needs and handling the crazy that the IT and cyber world throws my way. Super reasonable as well. Get them and sleep well at night! Attorney MONIKA A. HARTL RN BSN JD; Worker's Compensation Law Offices Of...
Read moreOur laptop wouldn't charge the battery anymore, so we took it to Alpha Geeks. When we brought it back home with us, the computer was burning hot after ten minutes and the case was starting to melt. After researching online ourselves, we figured out that the problem was most likely a faulty connection of the part they installed and put in for us. Bringing it back, they wouldn't fix this for free. In fact, they told us that this repair would be even more expensive, even though they are the ones that broke the laptop further than it was in the first place. It was very dangerous and who knows what could have happened if we hadn't noticed our laptop burning up? In the end we had to buy a whole new computer. Worst service...
