Poor selection. Staff ignored me even though the place was practically empty. I was prepared to spend quite a bit of money on getting my child ready for his first soccer experience. As well as purchase several items for my two daughters who are signed up for volleyball. But after walking around the store looking at the tiny selection of youth cleats, and non-existent adult soccer cleats, I realized the staff was probably not going to offer any assistance. They did look in my direction multiple times and we’re just standing around the checkout counter watching me circle the store. They only acknowledged me as I left. Normally, I don’t have a problem asking for help at stores but the looks from the staff made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I figured I’d rather take my money off island. Wow, always a fan of Big 5 until I went to the Oak Harbor location and had the unfortunate experience to deal with Kelly the manager. Not only was she incredibly rude to me she was also incredibly rude to the new guy at the register. Total disrespect for his need for assistance and inexcusable comments about homeless people and my reaction to her accusations of possible theft. Apparently she felt I may have stashed items in a backpack I was purchasing, yet she had hovered over me and taken the items to the register while I shopped. Sadly her disrespect of staff and customers is acceptable to Big 5 corporate. I called the customer service to express my concerns over her behavior and they promised a follow up. Well no surprise that didn’t happen, so yah I would highly recommend avoiding this location. The complete lack of respect for the staff and customers...

Great experience all around. Due to a surgery I've needed assistance grabbing things and very short times shopping in stores. I had to get my son shoes and a couple other items. I went in and Ben was on it, greeting me as I entered and grabbing everything I needed. I truly needed the help and I didn't feel belittled for asking ( you'd be surprised how much sales clerks seem to act bothered by assisting people latly). Thank you again Ben for the outstanding customer service and making this trip easy on me.
