Its a newer store in town so it still has that fresh and new look to it. Its not as big as i thought it would be but its clean and there is plenty of room to move freely. I know plenty of people who love going here but im not one of them. First of all the quarter to borrow a buggy is a nuisance in my opinion. Does everyone carry a quarter on them in anticipation of going to aldis? I don't. And does everyone carry bags in their car anticipating aldis? I dont and find it very oppurtunistic to sell bags by the register but not have one or two available for customers like me who forget because i dont shop there much. I dont necessarily like their off brand products and am particular about what i eat. Its not all brand food. Im not rich but certain store brands are better on different products and i havent found one here that dazzles me. I do go there on occasion for their bread (always taste fine) and produce (its inexpensive and always fresh). Then you have the one or two cashiers sitting on their stools slowly ringing groceries up. It takes forever sometimes and think they need a better system to get you out quicker. Last time i stood in line with 2 heads of lettuce behind a buggy full of groceries and since the rude person in front of me didnt offer for me to go ahead and no employee offered to check me out real quick, i left and went down the road. Im not stading in line with one cashier when there are plenty of registers not in use. I can go thru self checkout elsewhere. I get what aldis is trying to do and there enviromental message is loud and clear but i dont necessarily care. I want convenience, speed and efficiency and i dont really...
Read moreALDI is going to be my go-to grocery store from now on. I've already reviewed their location at 836 Louisville Rd, Alcoa, TN 37701 (see below), and all those things are true of this location too. To that, I merely want to add that they have a very unique selection of great items and artisan-quality flavors throughout their entire store. Even their store-brand peanut butter cups, for example, are not only cheaper than Reese's, but they taste far better (I know. I can hardly believe it. I am a big fan of Reese's).
This store, like their other location I reviewed (again, see below) has incredibly friendly and professional staff. As for possible reasons that this is so, I'll refer you to what I said in my review of their Alcoa, TN location:
"There's a reason ALDI is spreading across the country like wildfire. Actually, a bunch of reasons. They offer by far the best prices on many things. They pay their employees better than average, and they actually let their cashiers sit down as they scan groceries, which is the sane and humane thing to do, but which I haven't seen anywhere else (employment in this country generally being neither sane...
Read moreQuick shopping at great prices. Their store brand items tastes as good as name brand. Çheap produce and dairy. Check their weekly ad for weekly meat specials at prices that cant be beat!! Im an extreme couponer, so i shop at kroger and publix for things i have coupons for, but for everything else, i shop at aldi, if you dont have coupons, aldi is the best place to shop... Sometimes, i think about quitting couponing, and just shopping strictly at aldi... Bring your own bags, or grab a box from inside the store, otherwise, you have to buy bags. I usually just grab an empty box. If you are getting a lot of stuff, bring a quarter in order to get a shopping cart, it is returned when you put the cart back. You seriously cant go wrong shopping here!! Take it from an extreme couponer who keeps track of prices!! Be sure to check the ad for extra special deals, and when its in the paper, stock up on...
