City Electric Supply Orlando West — Local services in Ocoee

I have had an electrical company for over 12 years now. We have had an account with city electric for the last 3 years. For the most it was pleasant and I have no complaints. The guys all new me by name new my number and texted or called/ emailed me with any issues. The last big job we finished we had a job account with City Electric and unfortunately a good deal of invoices ended up on the shop account that should have been on the job account. We ended up taking a big loss on this job however we were able to get the company to pay the entire job account off. I met with Berry, Bill and TIto with a check in February and asked if they would give me time to get the shop account paid. They said no problem just keep making payments. Which I did, we had 1400 remaining on the account as of last week. On Friday last week my wife calls me freaking out, there is someone at my home looking for me. They have two lawsuits from City Electric one against me and one against my company. She served me with the papers in front of my kids, my wife and my neighbors. It was devasting, honestly one of the worst experiences of my professional career. I was also at loss, how could I be served with this lawsuit, I was making payments no one called or emailed me recently from City Electric and I only owed 1400$ left. I never was sent to collections or anything it went straight into a lawsuit. I called and emailed today but my reps at the store will not speak with me they said I have to deal with corporate now. City electric corporate sent me an email saying I owe 950$ for attorney's fees no invoice or anything. I asked if they would be willing to negotiate these fees and they said no. I honestly cannot suporate a business that would take from the small companys just to pay off attorneys. I feel so helpess in the situation and just wanted to share my story in case it helps someone else. Please be careful before you do business with this company. Update I got an email from city electric corporate today and they said if I do not pay the 1000 plus “attorney “ fee within a couple days I could possibly be hit with additional attorney fees. 1000$ attorney fee on a 1400 $ invoice ?!? . Fantastic service. I was able to get everything that I needed not knowing much about electricity due to the friendly service provided by this establishment.
