Homebody — Local services in Oconomowoc

I’ve been shopping at Homebody since it opened. Although I don’t know the owner personally, she is always so nice!! She talks to you like she is a friend when you are there. She is always so kind to my kids when I bring them along with me to shop too. I follow the store on Instagram. You can tell she has a such a passion for what she does and how much work it is to own a small business. You can tell she pours her heart into the business and truly cares about her customers and the type of experience they have. That’s the kind of place I want to shop and support.

Today was my first time attending of this particular sale in January. It is so popular so I decided to give it a shot. I arrived an hour early because I knew it would be busy. But it was worth it braving the cold and It was so fun! I plan to invite some friends to go with me next year. Plus there are always events coinciding with sales at the store. Which is great! Can you give a review with no stars? I’m giving them a star for their cute merchandise and their distinct vibe. However, it was the most unfriendly experience I had the entire time I was visiting Oconomowoc. I visited three times and each time the staff was super unhelpful and not friendly. They wouldn’t even hold an item for 24 hours (when I had already purchased other items) Their exchange only policy is also not friendly to visitors from 1000 miles away. Contrast this to my experience at The Well down the street where shopping was a welcoming joyful experience, also with beautiful merchandise. Just a visitor’s opinion but definitely would not return...

Today was my first time at Homebody- and what an experience it was! We saw the sale advertised, and chose to arrive 45 minutes before opening to get in line. It was cold, but so fun to be with others excited for cute clothes at a great price. Cheers went up when the doors opened- and my friends and I joined the crowd to find our new favorite clothes and home decor. 4 hours after we got in line, we headed home- happy, tired, and with bags fill of new favorites.

So grateful for the owner and her staff that never stopped smiling (even when picking up dozens of discarded coffee cups!). I...
