I just needed one link of a gold necklace repaired, but I don't live in Odessa and only visit every several weeks so I wanted very much to get it done the same day, and feared it might not be possible. Glitz & Glam was the first place I went and they were very happy to do it that day. (I recognize that it's entirely possible that they kept the broken and deformed link and simply connected the two intact parts, but that's actually fine with me. Even at 14 K, it's a fine enough necklace that the gold in that one link is basically worth pennies, and I can understand that re-forming that would add considerably to the complexity of the task. And if they did use the broken piece, so much the better. I honestly don't care.) When I picked it up, it had been both repaired and cleaned as a courtesy, which is the minimum I would expect, but I've also seen plenty of businesses not bother with the cleaning so I appreciate it. The staff were polite and helpful, and left me a very charming voicemail when it was ready to be picked up.
My only small complaint is that both when I dropped it off and when I picked it up I felt somewhat rushed even though there were only 1-2 other customers in the store. I feel like the staff just has a bit of a habit of rushing people in and out, which can be fine if it suits your personality and schedule. I'm just a more relaxed kind of person and it stressed me a little.
Another advantage is that there's disabled-accessible parking right across from their storefront, but I would caution anyone with a wheelchair that it might be a tricky fit through the front door. I use a walker and it did fit, but it was close, and hard to hold the door open while going through it. Once inside, there's plenty of room to move around no matter what sort of mobility aid you use, so that's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would ā and Iād throw in a cracked screen for good measure.
I came in with a cracked iPhone screen, expecting a fix. What I got was a nightmare in LCD form. After their ārepair,ā my phone turned into a possessed toaster ā heating up like it wanted to cook itself, the battery died faster than my will to come back here, and the screen brightness? Letās just say Iāve seen glow worms that shine brighter. I took it outside and basically had to guess what was on the screen.
I brought it back and they āreplacedā it again ā probably with parts from a cereal box ā and said, āThatās the best we can do.ā Oh really? Well, yāall should consider doing less. I disputed the charge but lost, because their receipt has some shady fine print saying āNo refunds, only exchanges.ā Translation: once they ruin your phone, itās your problem now.
Avoid this place like a group text from your ex. Just go somewhere legit. Or better yet, walk around with a cracked screen ā at least then your phone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought a ring from this place white gold and diamonds for 580$, today come to find out I go to sell it in Houston and they sell the same type of rings for 150$ diamond tested it and everything for me. I was only able to sell the ring for 50$. These dudes messed me out of hundreds of dollars. Do not recommend go to a private jeweler or a franchise.
RESPONSE @The owner, you are missing the whole point. I pawned this ring to a jewelry store. Not a pawn shop what im saying is they sell the exact same ring you sold me white gold and real diamonds for less than half what you sold it to me for. You are over charging my guy lol. They didn't even wanna buy the ring off of me because of how cheap they sell theirs 50 was the rock bottom amount considering they sold that exact ring for 150 when I payed 580 for it and had to negotiate you or whatever employee who sold it to me to that price (580). So that's the...
