I showed up at 6:41 on Sunday, 11/5/2023 to the Odessa, Texas Michaelâs location. There were three employees at the door when I turned in and parked at the very front spot. They saw me as I was parking I know, because I made eye contact with one of them. I walked up to go in and would ya figure they were locking the doors early so they could leave early. When I walked in the West side exit door, the cashier was leaned over the counter playing on her phone. I said âYâall donât close until 7pm? Really?â She said nothing, but when I continued on to go for the feathers I was needing, I heard them laughing and saying âIdc she ainât the one been working all day. Go lock the other side then so no one else tries to come in too.â This made my already rough day have a stupid ending all because of lazy employees⌠I love Michaelâs. I always have and spend hundreds of dollars annually. Why would I continue to do the people being hired arenât as reliable as the reputation that Michaelâs stands for? Itâs the closest to my home and thatâs why I choose to go. Then this same cashier said she couldnât do a refund because I didnât have my original receipt from items I purchased 2 weeks ago then she said âshe could do an unverified return if I had an ID she guessedâ. Then she didnât want to give me my full amount back. Miguel - a part of the management team did nothing to resolve the issue. He literally came and click clacked his long purple nails on the screen of the register stating I had a 60 day refund and it had recently changed but there was nothing he could do about the amount discrepancy. I understand a lot of places are short staffed and itâs hard to come across good help but companies should do a better job hiring people who actually want to work and actually care about the business.    Read moreThe sales person that helped us... his name is Ramon... was so very helpful and sensitive to our needs. I had taken in a poster that my late daughter's co- workers had set up as a memorial on her apartment door after she had been murdered by her so-called common-law husband, and I wanted it framed to protect it. First of all, he heard my harsh, allergic cough, and without me even asking he brought me a bottle of water. Then after he finished framing it, he put in that "personal" touch by inquiring who she was, and after we told him, he asked permission to give us a hug and express his condolences. There were tears in his eyes. I will never forget this visit to Michael's. They are truly blessed to have him as an employee, and I hope they take care of him! Is been a hard, difficult month and a half... she was killed April 26th, but people like him give me strength...
