Iām still traumatized from an incident that happened December 2019. I did make a report but nothing ever came of it. I was relating my experience to a close friend and decided to check the reviews to see if thereās anything similar and surely, there has been recently. Thereās this customer service older lady who accused me of stealing a 8pk of Heineken. My friend and I were new to the area and didnāt have a car then so we had to take Uber to the store. With that being said, we did our Christmas grocery shopping but only noticed that the beer was missing when we got home. I called the store to inform them that the item was missing and was told to just bring the receipt next time we come in which I did. This older woman, made the most crude statements accusing me of already getting the item and returning for another. Weāre teachers not alcoholics!! After going back and forth with her, when I shouldāve just asked for a manager she said ok but then proceeded to say āDonāt let me see you back here saying the same thing again.ā It was certainly a culture shock for me and years later it still bothers me because it seems when I made the report when I got home to the manager, nothing was done about it as other comments suggest that she still is or was working there up until the last 7 months. I even took to a Facebook group where I was cussed out because, obviously a person like me can never be right in a society that is so hostile to certain classes of people. They have everything I order for the most part and if not will substitute with something similar if you use this option on the app. I order my groceries earlier in the day so I dont have to worry about them closing. They were also very helpful when favor delivered my groceries to the wrong house and replaced them.
My experience with some of the employees was not good. I used to go early in the morning after I got off from work. They were stocking and they block areas and you have to step all over boxes and some employees offer no help. I was in produce getting vegetables. I was getting some tomatoes and put some in a bag and turned to get more and an employee had just jumped right in front of me and started making room to stock more. I didn't even get an excuse me. So I stopped shopping there and started ordering online. I ordered a late order to be picked up between 8:30 -9. I was there at 8:58p. I put in my parking number and waited for about 15 minutes. Finally a young man came out and said in a rude manner, "we close at 9p." I said I'm sorry but I was here before 9p. Then he walks away and doesn't come back for about 20 minutes. They have forgotten a bag and have called me to pick it up. I have gotten things that weren't in my order that probably belonged to someone else. Three nights ago me and my significant other were shopping in your store and we purchased around 60-70$ worth of groceries including blueberries. My girlfriend doesn't have a car so she takes her food with her to work at the mall and after she gets off she walks to HEB sometimes to wait for me to pick her up so we can shop for dinner. Well she had left-over blueberries from the night before and was eating the blueberries I PURCHASED In the store. She was approached by some loss prevention associate and store leader. They accused her of stealing the blueberries and threatened her with felony charges and told her she could never come back to HEB. Now I'm an Odessa native born and raised and myself and my entire family shops at your store, many are prominent members of our community. My girlfriend on the other hand is from kazakhstan but is a U.S citizen. She is not the best with english and from what I can see, these two BULLIES tried to intimidate her to the point where she was sobbing when I came and got her. I spend close to a 1000$ dollars a month at your store and after this incident I won't be shopping at this store again. I will be contacting corporate about this incident and if this isn't resolved I will be taking legal action for harassment and discrimination and or defamation.
