Short summary: they use a lower quality screen for replacement. You get what you pay for.
After calling several places, I thought I had found a steal. This place was charging $10-30 cheaper than everyone else to replace my 6s screen. It was too good to be true. I tried to ask up front if they use OEM screens direct from apple. The answer I got "we use OEM quality." Weird answer, but I proceeded anyway.
Long story short, after replacing the screen there was a noticeable difference. I could no longer see the screen (too dark) with my polarized sunglasses. I could not see it at all while standing outside. This was never a problem before. I showed the manager and he pretended to not notice a difference. I decided that I wanted to get my original broken screen back on. Of course the problem disappeared with the original screen. They tried to discourage me from getting it back by saying it would take 1.5 hours to do because of other phones. I stayed and waited, it took 15 minutes as my phone was actually up next. Shady. I actually sat and waited for 15 minutes listening to them chat as none of them were working before this. I confirmed with another person in the store and they said they saw the same difference in screen quality as me despite the manager's insistence.
I am a reasonable person, had they refunded me fully I likely would have never left this review. I specifically asked before if I was getting the same screen and had been assured. It obviously was not. (Confirmed later, with a different store). I have written one negative review in my life, this is it. I went and replaced my screen with a different store up north. (will not name, so I do not get accused of being one of the competitors). Specifically confirmed up front if they used apple screens, was guaranteed I would get ALL my money back if I was unsatisfied. Their screen had no issues at all, seemed like the real deal. That's customer service. I am sure they will try to refute this review with one excuse or another. Just ask yourself, why are they able to charge less? Seems like cutting costs on parts to me. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.
With that said, if you want to save a few bucks this may not be a bad option. That is why I am not leaving 1 star. The guys seemed nice enough at first, but when I ran into problems, they were very dismissive. Didn't appreciate that. Just beware of...
Read moreI had an absolutely lovely experience here today. This is my second trip in as I drop my phone quite often. My phone decided to freak out while I was out in the middle of nowhere oklahoma today. It’s Friday so I needed my phone fixed that day and I needed it fixed fast as tomorrow is an important day and I needed my phone to coordinate. I somehow made it to Dash minutes before 6:00 after being stuck in traffic for two hours. I was thinking they most likely closed at 5:00 but to my delight they were still open! I had been in the car for over 8 hours at this point with one quick break to top up my gas so I was sore, hungry and grouchy. But that bad mood disappeared almost instantly. The owner and I ended up chatting for a good 30 minutes if not longer. He was so incredibly nice. I’m not a very chatty person myself and he didn’t seem to be at first either but I’m glad I chose that store because my phone is fixed and my bad mood vanished. I did not catch the owners name but he did a wonderful job fixing my phone. To summarize I believe he said the issue was my digitizer. My phone was working but my screen had a mind of its own. It was calling my father over and over again and trying to go into emergency mode while simultaneously dialing random numbers. Numbers just kept endlessly clicking on their own. It was so stressful. Thankfully it wasn’t fully charged. The owner took one glance and immediately knew what the issue was. The phone was fixed in minutes. I stuck around for the conversation for much longer. I wish I had gotten his name but definitely go support his business. He works extremely hard and deserves all the very best in life. I’ll definitely be back there in another 6 months when I drop my phone again. Won’t go anywhere else from here on out....
Read moreIf I could give these people negative Stars I would. My sister took her phone here to get repaired. She was told that only the glass would be lifted up because it was cracked and a new piece of glass to be put on there the display would not be touched at all come to find out, that they gave her an LCD display when she has a Samsung Galaxy S7 with a amoled display. My sister drops her phone about 18 in and the screen starts to bleed and then we figure out hey this is an LCD display it's not the original one that we brought in there so we ask the guy about it. He denies the whole thing starts acting like we're stupid and says LED stands for liquid edmitting daioh. That doesn't make any sense. An example of an led is like a flashlight or a TV does your flashlight bleed when you drop it ?No. Basically my sister got jipped on her phone the guy called my dad stupid and said he didn't know what he's talking about my dad's an engineer and works with computers and mechanical technological stuff all the time. Now she has to take it to Samsung to get it fixed and Samsung is willing to pay half the price because they realize that this dirty rat bastard had done her wrong. My sister was so excited when she bought this phone too because it was one the first phone that she bought herself with her own money. And she doesn't pay a monthly charge on a monthly plan she paid for it in full and she was so excited and now she's without a phone again because of this guy. Don't waste your time going here he's a crook and he's probably giving you an LCD display even if just the glass was broken on your Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S8. The amoled displays are worth about $300 so when you take those out and you put in a $75 display he is making $225 in each...
