I called the store and told a young man what size fish tank I had to see if they had the correct lids for it. He went and asked someone and they replied saying they did in fact have the correct lids and so I went and purchased them. I got home and they did not fit at all (about 8 inches too short) so I called and verified over the phone before I drove over there that I could immediately return them. They checked with the manager and they said I absolutely could return them so I then within about an hour or two of the purchase returned with the merchandise. I checked out on the left end of the counter where there were no posted “no cash back” signs. If you go to the other side of the counter that you can not see from that register about 3/4 through a lengthy page that starts with something along the lines of “fish, reptiles, etc” it finally states something about how they will not return cash to you and instead give you a gift card as a refund. I do not have x-ray vision so I did not see this lengthy page that seemingly has nothing to do with cash back returns seeing as it has in bold “fish, reptiles, etc” and not specifically “returns” on the top of it from across the other side of the counter where one within sight is not posted. I then was told by every female worker present there that day in a rude manor with no sort of solution offered of attempting to get the correct lids or any sort of customer service that this was their policy (even though you can’t see this policy from the register I checked out at) that I could not have my money back because I paid with cash. I do understand that I got heated as hell so I became uneasy to deal with at some point because no one was trying to help me with a solution. I was just being told I can’t have my money back and obviously anyone who just spent $175 and is sold a wrong fitting item then immediately returning it to be told “I can’t give you your money back it’s our policy” is going to then get pissed off when everyone’s just being rude and not helpful. I then asked to speak to the general manager. The manager then notified me that they will not give me their number and said something along the lines of “good luck getting a hold of them because they’re opening a new store”. Super helpful right there. Really encourages customers to keep their cool with comments like that along with just being told you can’t speak to someone. I then asked for the phone number of the place in Kansas and was given an incorrect phone number. I’ll chalk that up as maybe someone heard the other wrong. I would like to clarify that all the male staff was very neutral and in no way were trying to cause any strife in the situation. All the females that were working that day all were very rude in the situation and just all seemed to want to piss me off instead of attempt to reach a solution for the situation. If someone would have literally said something helpful instead of the same exact sentence “we can’t give you your money back it’s our policy” then this day would have been way different. To me that’s not customer service. If someone literally would have just said “let me call someone and see if there’s anything I can do here” or even “do you want to see if we can get you the correct lids?” But that didn’t happen. They all turned into toddlers that wanted me to be disgruntled and unhappy with the outcome. When I did call the Kansas store I spoke with their manager and was told they would notify the gm and they would contact me. This was sometime earlier last week. No one contacted me. It seems no one cares about customer service at this store.
I do also want to add that my husband went in and used our gift card that I didn’t want on some items that we needed to finish up our tank and once again the male staff of the store was cordial and nice.
Don’t worry guys we will not be back and hopefully you all get some customer service training in the...
Read moreI really wish I could have bought fish today, I bought 5 loaches when the store first opened a few weeks ago, they are doing great and thriving. Went today to buy some fish which there were only 2 left of I would have bought more but there were only 2, so I said I would come back when they restock and get another 3-4. Then some things were said between another customer whom I don’t know personally and an employee, then the fish “suddenly” couldn’t be sold because they were “acting erratic“. I looked at the fish myself and they seemed to be acting fine when I would look at them, but ok I trust the employees. So then the employee said I can pick different fish, while I was trying to pick a different group of fish the customer that I previously mentioned came up and said “the fish don’t like you, you give bad vibes” so I asked what made her think/say that. She said she is a “seer and can talk to fish”. The employee didn’t intervene in any way and seemed to condone what the customer said to me by being complacent not reassuring me that I can still buy fish. I called management of the main location in Wichita they seemed shocked by the interaction and was told I would get a call back after they talked to the manager of the okc store. I did get a call from the okc manager who apologized for the interaction but that it wasn’t because of the other customer it was because the fish didn’t seem in good health according to the employee that my interaction was with initially. The manager specified to me that she wasn’t there so she doesn’t know. Another employee who rang me up for the fish while I waited for them to be bagged apologized to me which I feel bad for because she was kinda just ripped into a situation that she wasn’t there for, I don’t think she needed to apologize as she did nothing wrong. That was kind of odd to me. Nothing was done about the customer who interrupted and no one reassured me that I could come back and get fish. It hurts to have this happen as I’ve kept my current 20 gallon tank of fish for 2 1/2 years with only one incident of 2 fish dying which when I got them I don’t know how old they were and I’m thinking it was old age as I did my due diligence to find out if it was a problem with my tank. I have 4 dogs, 2 cats and horses aside from my fish so I’ve owned a variety of animals that are all very well...
Read moreI was excited there was a new reptile store opening, first 2 times there were no real issues just a little unorganized amongst the staff and a lot of waiting around while they switched jobs while helping you. last time when i went there i waited in line for a live fuzzy mouse, at the feeders section, once i was being helped someone else who just got there needed help looking at the pictures of the enclosure, and obviously they had to switch staff and once I was being helped I needed a fuzzy mouse and 10 med cricket, I was rang up for it before they got the things, paid and she goes back and they have no Fuzzy Mice, but she said they have pinkies, that’s totally fine I get it, instead of double checking they had pinkies she goes and starts trying to change it in the system and ends up having 3 separate employees having to try and figure out how they could possibly exchange the fuzzy i was charged for and never got for the pinky mouse that has still not been confirmed they even have, i never saw it in store, once she went and got it she didn’t show it to me as some reptile stores are known to do, showing you your feeder to know it’s the right size, but when i got to my car after they figured out how to change the name of what i got in the system (don’t see why that matters they don’t have the quantity of the pinkies and fuzzies in there or she would have known they were out of stock, and they were the same price when i got my correct receipt) anyway it was dying when i got to my car, obviously had been away from mom too long and was cold to the touch but it was still hanging on so, i am familiar with pinky and fuzzy mice and figured it would be fine for me to drive (18 minutes) home and feed my snake real quick. nope i get home and it’s dead. they sold me a dead pinky mouse and took 20 minutes to do so… I think it’s a clean store with a decent floor of animals, clean enclosures and everything looks well cared for, they need to work on the staff, I thought this would be a great addition to the existing reptile stores in OKC but i never left another place with a dead feeder, this was really disappointing, when I noticed how it looked in the car I should have gone back in but after the staff not knowing how to run they system i figured it was more trouble than...
