A week ago we stopped in this location to find out that they only offer appointment only. We just left from that appointment. As a local guide I would like to share our experience with others. Upon entering the store we were asked to leave our books and go "wonder around" while they looked up the books value. We carried on with our 3 year old daughter to the children's section so she could pick out a book while we waited. Once they called our name on the intercom we approached the young lady at the desk. She told us she would offer us $115 for close to $3,000 worth of books. I then asked what the sticky notes she had placed inside the books were for. As some she had $200 on. She said that was what they we re valued at and what they would sell them for. I had researched the books prior to this appointment so I knew the value. I told her for that rate I would just list them online. At that moment she became very unprofessional. She didn't put the books back into the cases she removed them from. Some of the cases had been ripped apart. Of which was not how we left them in her care. Some of the books are very old and collectable. She then practically dismissed us as she called for the next person in line before we could put our books back together and reloaded on the cart. We were wearing masks and had been socially distancing up untill she called for the next customer to the same counter. Of which my 3 year old daughter was not wearing a mask. I was not impressed with her carelessness for us as customers. At this point I didn't care to purchase a book from this place. However my daughter was not at fault so I still spent $24 solely for her. I will not return to this location as public health and customer service are not hard to accommodate. Beware. If you are selling your books do your research as they will try to take advantage of you, then treat you like a peasant for not...
Read moreI’ve visited this store about 5 times, and have bought several books, never once have I been greeted. Yesterday I noticed 3 Caucasians walk in after me who were happily greeted. I’m not even going to pretend as if I don’t know the reason why, it was because of the color of my skin. There are always employees at the front entrance, so it’s only one obvious reason. We live in a society where the very ppl who have such ignorance are the very ones that claim such prejudices and racism don’t exist in America but it does. And it’s mind blowing to enter a Bookstore, where there is such a wealth of knowledge and power to educate the mind about the very prejudices or racism you may hold within your heart to keep you from greeting or offering help because of the color of my skin. Thankfully I’m a well educated Civil Engineer, and was not raised to return the hate. And of course this is not the first time this has happened to me within my lifetime, but a google review is the best way to address an experience these days. On behalf of minority communities, the majority fail to realize we have the right to hold such ignorance too against Caucasians, given the present times AND history of this country, some of us just CHOOSE not to, you’re welcome. I will not be returning to the store anymore. I have visited a different location and the experience was the...
Read moreDON'T SELL YOUR BOOKS HERE. They do not process all your books and the offer they give you willI not be for the lot of them...they will keep and resell them as part of their lot books...I brought in books to sell and asked to have the books they weren't accepting (making an offer on) given back to me. I spoke to Jason Martin about it and first he refused stating it was against policy to give trash books they weren't accepting back...although during the same conversation he stated that occasionally they would allow it. When I asked him what they considered trash books he replied torn pages, covers, broken spines (my books didn't have torn pages or broken spines) When the process was finished the employee was going to let us have back the books that were deemed as 'trash' but Jason Martin came over and said we couldn't take them because it was store policy that it was all or nothing and that the books they labeled as 'e' books were mixed in with the trash. 'e' books being the filler books they throw into the lot books they sell. So apparently they pick and choose which customers they let take books back that they don't accept. Also half the books weren't even processed through the system because they didn't have a bar scan and they don't want to take the time to look up a value for the books. I have included photos of what he...
