I found some nice things here, but the owner made me uncomfortable. He began by asking me where I lived. When I answered Auburn, he replied “I figured so, you look like one of those rich Auburn girls”. He continued making comments such as “only pretty girls get discounts” (he sold my items for cheaper than marked), and repeatedly called me “little girl”. Further, he mentioned “Opelika girls” being unattractive and even showed me a vintage photo of a woman in a larger body and remarked, “this is what all those Opelika girls look like. I wouldn’t give them a discount, just you pretty ones”. I felt uncomfortable but also unsafe as a woman because I was the only person in the store. I hate to put a review like this out there for a local business but I felt the need to for my fellow women who may shop here by themselves. As a side note, the store does not take any credit cards- cash or check only. This is totally fine but there are zero indications such as signage to let patrons know this before they get to the checkout counter, so if you go, be...

Make sure to bring cash, as they don’t accept cards. The store is pretty cluttered, so take your time and dig carefully—you might find some hidden gems. I bought a spice blender, a mini bird picture, and an apple-shaped bowl for just $5.

The owner was a bit odd—when I asked if there was an outlet to test the spice blender, he kept joking (repeatedly) about putting my fingers in it when testing it and giving me it back. It was a bit strange.

Went with high hopes to find some interesting trinkets. Wasn't open during the hours given on the internet or on the door. Called ahead too to make sure but didn't get an answer. From other reviews the owner seems like a very kind person, so I hope he is alright and that the shop being closed is just a one-off coincidence!
