Very disappointed. First off, they are not dog friendly especially, for an outdoor only seating deli. Two older guys with Knuckle t-shirts on (I was told one was the owner) were sitting at a table when we walked up. My wife was reading the menu outside by the street when one of he old guys said "you have to eat out there with a dog". My wife said no problem and sat at the picnic table and my golden sat under the table as always. More rude comments came from the other guy saying "why do people have to bring a dog"? Mind you this is all outdoor seating and no one was there. When ordering the girl taking the orders was visably upset at someone. I said it's OK and tried to lighten her day but she said that she needs to get out of here. I ordered a Pastrami and Corned beef sandwich that had one slice of each deli meat balled up in the center of the Rye bread and nothing around the edges. Ordered Swiss and got white American. For a place claiming to be a NY Deli, I've never been in a NY Deli where this sandwich was served with cold deli meat and not steamed. The macaroni salad was served with elbow macaroni and a little bit of egg. No mayo. Had to put 3 packets in to make it edible. Wife had a corned beef sandwich and dry cole slaw. Warm cans of soda. So two cold deli sandwiches, two sides, and two 12oz sodas was $29.50. We changed our order to go so we didn't have to put up with attitudes from the old guys. One and done. I was really hoping for a good deli in town...
Read moreIn Florida, the minimum wage for tipped employees, such as servers, is currently $9.98 per hour as of September 30, 2024. However, employers can claim a tip credit of $3.02 per hour, meaning they are required to pay a direct cash wage of at least $9.98, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. If an employee's tips plus the direct wage do not equal the full minimum wage of $13.00 per hour, the employer must make up the difference. The minimum wage for all employees in Florida, including tipped employees, is set to increase to $14.00 per hour on September 30, 2025, with the tipped minimum wage increasing to $10.98. Key points: Current minimum wage for tipped employees: $9.98 per hour. Maximum tip credit: $3.02 per hour. Total minimum wage: $13.00 per hour. Future minimum wage (starting September 30, 2025): $14.00 per hour. Future tipped minimum wage (starting September 30, 2025): $10.98 per hour.
Important considerations: Tip pooling: Employers can only include employees who customarily and regularly receive tips in a tip pooling arrangement.
Dual jobs: If an employee performs non-tipped work for more than 20% of their shift or for more than 30 consecutive minutes, the employer cannot claim a tip credit for that time.
Record keeping: Employers must keep accurate records of hours worked and tips received.
Ensuring minimum wage: If an employee's tips don't bring their total earnings up to the minimum wage, the employer must pay...
Read moreOkay, so hear me out. We each tried something different (A Reuben with a side of coleslaw, The Thanksgiving Sandwich with a side of macaroni salad, and the Cuban with a side of Spanish rice and black bean sauce) and we shared bites, and an order of fries.
EVERYTHING was good. Everything.
I don't like southern style coleslaw, it's entirely too sweet, same with macaroni salad. But this is New York style. The food literally came straight from a portal in New York City, I'm almost 100% sure. It was so damn good. The atmosphere was awesome, the staff was really fun and courteous, Even the other patrons were friendly. We sat at a table outside and just actually sat and enjoyed our meal. Even with the tip, all of that food came to less than $50. This place is super affordable, clean, delicious, everything we look for in a good sandwich joint.
We will be back, as soon as possible. We plan on working our way through all the specialties, I personally ordered the Cuban and it was one of the best Cuban sandwiches I've ever had. And that's saying a lot if you know my life lmao.
I also don't know what they put in the black bean sauce, but that stuff is addictive. Everyone started dipping their fries in it and it was just amazing.
Go here, go here now. You will...
