I went in as a seasoned Brazilian/Bikini Wax receiver and I will tell you what I received was an AWFUL wax.

They use soft wax (which I have had before with the same brand) and I have never had the amount of pain I did that day. Pressure was not applied after the strips were pulled, my skin was not pulled in the opposite direction in which the strip was being pulled. If those things would have happened the pain would have been more manageable.

I am bruised in multiple spots which when speaking with the owner after I had left...she said that it could have been from any anti inflammatories or alcohol that may have been in my system. Neither of those things were in my system not even from the night prior.

I understand that not every hair will be removed due to multiple factors BUT the amount of hair I have EVERYWHERE that was "waxed" doesn't make much sense to me.

The worst part of all I HAD TO CLEAN MYSELF UP!! She left the room and told me where the wax remover and paper towels were. She said to take my time and she would meet me up front to cash out. I had so much wax left on me, I used 3 paper towels to clean myself up. I also was stuck together in places I shouldn't have been. Honestly I am not sure how or why wax was there in the first place. She was supposed to remove the hair in those areas but I promise it is ALL still there. (I am not sure if I can put the areas on a review but I everyone knows where I am talking about.)

I came home, sat with an ice pack on myself for more than an hour and took anti inflammatories to try to easy the pain and discomfort.

.When speaking with the owner she justified the bruising and said she will talk to the aesthetician that did my service. She didn't understand how any of that could happen because she is their 'wax girl".

My experience was not good at all and I am still dealing with the consequences of this service. I am covered in bumps, soreness, dryness, bruising and discomfort after two full days after the service.

The owner afforded me a gift certificate for any amount for one service that I wanted to receive. I told her don't waste her time, I would not be returning. I have others who take care of my hair, nails and toes.

Just so everyone is aware I am licensed and very knowledgeable in this industry.

I felt like a review was needed so other don't experience what I went through.

I don’t know if this is a prejudice salon that only take Caucasian clients or only work on Caucasians hair and I’m not the type to make assumptions about anything or anyone. But I called in asking if they can put curls in my head or give me a nice flat iron because I am from Beverly Hills California & I don’t really know the area to well or about the type of salons.

I’d had an appointment with someone to braid my hair but they we’re booked/backed up and I didn’t want to walk around with wild hair so for the time being I’ve decided to get a flat iron or a curl style until my appointment date just to look decent. Upon calling the salon I told them exactly what I wanted and it seems they assumed I was a black American (which I’m not) because when I mentioned curls the response I got back was “We don’t do perms or braids”

I never asked for a perm style or braids. I simply said a curl style or flat iron. And I was stated that they don’t know if they can do my hair, and I was told by the lady that she would reach out to her manager and call me back to see if they can help me. I never once got a call back, & the reason I feel it came off as prejudice was because if I am being told flat ironing my head is something they can’t do it lead me to believe they don’t work on blacks hair. And It’s very sad, what type of narrow-minded elitist view of the world that...

As the 2023 ball dropped on New Years eve, I made the decision to finally charge after my desire to wear my hair like one of my favorite singers PINK! It has been over 25 years since I had a short haircut.....at least that short. After a few attempts, I decided to try Meraki.....AND I have NO regrets.

Jaclyn is AMAZING! As an expert in dry cuts and barboring, she has completely nailed the style I wanted. In addition, when I was faced with a last minute need for an emergency touch up, she found a way to squeeze me in. Most recently she had me looking like a BOSS for a prestigious award ceremony! She is edgy, friendly and listens to your needs....and believe me, I'm not that picky or knowledgeable when it comes to my hair. I showed her photo and that was it! BAM! ROCKSTAR! I have had so many compliments.....I would highly recommend her.

For that same event, I scheduled with Katelynn Barnes for acrylics. She NAILED it....pun intentional! Beautiful, elegant and complimentary to my attire!

As a woman-owed business myself, I love women supporting women, and I truly enjoy hearing how enjoyable it is for these ladies to work together, support and inspire one another!
