I have received the worst service one could expect from Mathews collision center. I was recommended by my insurance to go to Mathews after a tree fell on top of my Truck. The accident happened on July 1, 2018. As of October 19, 2018 my truck still isn't repaired correctly.
After 2 months I was told my truck was completely repaired. After picking it up and taking it home I discovered well over a dozen major/minor issues. I had peeling paint, broken glass all over the interior, incorrectly installed seatbelts, leaking sunroof, headliner falling down, door seals falling down, exposed wires, interior covered in over spray, outside of the truck was covered in over spray, incorrectly installed windshield wiper blade holders, pry marks left on body trim, glass blowing out of my air conditioned seats, ect.
I returned my truck as soon as they could get me back in. While I was waiting for Mathews to schedule my return my truck sat through a few rain storms. During each rain event my interior got drenched from the leaking sunroof and failed roof seam. The water soaked my door speakers, ran into my dash vents, into my glove box, into my interior fuse panel box, and eventually onto my floor.
After Mathews having my truck for another month I received my truck back for the second time. This time many of the issues we're repaired but still not completely corrected. I still had over spray paint all over the inside and outside of the truck. Loud wind noise from the sunroof. Wipers still incorrectly installed.
When I took my truck back for a third time I met with both body shop mangers and a rep from my insurance. As we did a walk around on my truck so I could point out the continued issues the manager asked to buy my truck. I felt he understood this truck was really screwed up by there work and would be a problem truck for both of us for ever.
I felt some relief that Mathews was finally going to make things right and do the right thing. Boy was I wrong. Dan the manager set me up with a salesman. They looked over my truck and offered me 15,000. I laughed because that's how much money Mathews had just put into my truck. I pulled up Kelly Blue book value and it had my truck between 19,000 and 23,500.
They weren't trying to help me out. They were trying to rip me off more. Mathews was just trying to make more money of my misery. They came back to me and said there top dollar was 19,000. They refused to negotiate on the only truck they had on the lot that was in my price range.
To conclude I have been with out my truck for 3.5 months. I have had to miss out on work and overtime having to run my truck back and forth. The stress and fustration from this has taken it's toll. Do your self a favor and never go to Mathews...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently stopped in to check out a new 2013 Ford F-150 and was extremely disappointed with the level of servcie I received. The dealership itself is nice, the facilities and selection were very good and I've heard good things about the service department so I thought I would drive the hour to check them out.
I've got several years of experience in car sales and financing so I'm a pretty tough critic of car salespeople in general. That being said, my experience here was ridiculous. When I go shopping for a new vehicle, I won't shave and I'll wear some beat up jeans/flannel shirt so that I don't look like I have money. The reason I do that is so that I can weed out most of the lazy salespeople and the only ones that will talk to me are the ones that want to make money and sell a vehicle. This place was no exception.
When we pulled in, we pulled up next to two sales guys talking on the lot. Both of them looked at my wife (who was also wearing jeans and a sweatshirt) and I and you could see them doing the "not it" game. The one that lost trudged over to us and we told him that we wanted to test drive a $43,000 truck. I had already picked out exactly which one it was and pointed it out. I was then informed that they had a new policy that required a sales person to ride on all test drives. We agreed and he went off to find a stock number and keys. Through all of this, he never introduced himself, asked my wife or I for our names or even welcomed us to the dealership. 10 minutes later he comes back and we go on the drive.
I can understand having a salesperson go along on a test drive if they know something about the vehicle but this salesperson didn't know anything about it or even have a recommendation as to where to drive it. My wife had to ask the salesperson to tell us about the truck and how it compared to a Ram 1500 which is the vehicle I told him I was also interested in. He didn't know anything about the vehicle that he couldn't read off of the window sticker and was generally uninterested in being there. We got back and that is when he introduced himself by handing me his business card. I didn't know his name until that moment. He finally asked me for my name so he could "log me". He never introduced himself to my wife or offered to shake her hand. He really didn't acknowledge her in general. I gave him my phone number and left incredibly disappointed in the dealership in general for allowing a salesperson that inexperienced to be in front of customers.
This might be an isolated incident and I might have just ran into the worst salesperson on the planet, but looking at some of the other reviews, it doesn't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst experience ever in purchasing a car, and I've bought a couple that weren't too great. If they offered me a car for free I wouldn't take it. I purchased a car a couple years ago there. After the first week, back to the dealership it went. It stayed there for over 3 months while I drive a loaner. Good thing I insisted on it. They kept trying to claim it was fixed and I would go check on it. Nope. After about 3-4 months, not fixed. Meanwhile, the service department set up and used my free trial of Sirius Radio! I had surgery and couldn't drive for 6 months. Started driving again and more problems. Check engine light. Supposedly fixed it. (Good thing I had an extended warranty.). Another few months, more problems. Check engine light again. I had surgery again, so no time to take it in. Long story, in 2 years time, I drove that car a total of 4 months. The rest of the time it was either in the shop.or undrivable. Between the warranty place and me, it has cost more in repairs than the car originally cost. Now, it has issues again, after they claim it's fixed. Nothing shows on the diagnostic computer, so on driving it they say they "feel that it is internal to the transmission". Evidently they diagnose cars according to feelings now. They claim they don't fix transmissions there, so I have to take it elsewhere after being told, time and time again, that I can only have warranty work done there. This is a Dodge Caliber. First, I would suggest never, ever buying this car. It's a complete and total piece of junk. Second, these people have lied to me from the beginning, starting with my salesman who said that I had to have certain insurance on my car to purchase it. I found out later that not only was this a lie, but it is illegal to say that. This company is extremely shady. I have honestly never done business with such an underhanded, dishonest company in my life. If I had the time to mess with them, I would sue them for dishonest practices. Frankly, I'm just at the point where I wish to sell this car, be out from under it and never see these people again. One of the worst places with which I have ever had the poor luck to have...
