Within a minute of walking into Imagine Peace, I knew I was going to have a terrible experience. First off, the guy working asked me if I had been to the shop before and I said that this was my first time. He demanded that I keep the albums in alphabetical order and not them out of the plastic sleeves, like I have never stepped foot into a record store. In addition to this act of douchbaggery, he said that he was going to lunch in 20 minutes and that I had to be out of the store before then. Yeah, that's right, this clown gave me a time limit because he had the munchies. What a way to make a customer feel welcome... So I started to browse around and I have to admit, I was fairly impressed with the selection. The prices weren't nearly as good as other record stores in Utah (EG: Diabolical and Randy's in SLC) but they weren't outrageous by any means. In fact, the whole reason why I'm giving this place an extra star is because of their decent selection of records. Anyways, as I explored the shop, I noticed that by the worker's personal turntable, there was an album that has been on my want list. It's important to note that this album was in a plastic sleeve and priced like the rest of records on the shelves. I asked if I could buy the record and the guy said I couldn't because he was "listening" to it. I thought to myself, You have got to be kidding me? You have plenty of other records to listen to; Is your objective to sell albums or listen to them? It's not like it wasn't priced either; it had a sticker just like all the other albums. Anyways, the worker there was a total jerk. I'm not sure if he was the owner or just someone working there. Either way, he made my trip to Imagine Peace uncomfortable and completely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Guy that runs this shop is the most unprofessional owner/douchebag that I have encountered in a long time, I actually was told by other vinyl collectors to avoid this guy, I had to try it for myself, wheeew they weren't kidding HAHA I'm still in shock by his customer service or lack of lol.
First off he greets us with a WHAT DA YA NEED attitude, I replied, to look at your vinyl that's for sale? Then in a condescending matter he states "don't move my records out of alphabetical order or sequence and do not take them out of their plastic sleeves or any inspection what so ever LMAO" ITS A USED VINYL SMOKE SHOP DUMBASS.
Then he tells me he doesn't even want to sell vinyl any more because of all the problems he has with it, Well do us all a favor and DON'T!!!! Then while I'm browsing he tells me he is going to lunch in 15 minutes REALLY WOW!! Wouldn't want him to starve or miss another smoke break...
Anyway I frequent all of the shops around town quite often and his vinyl isn't any better or worse than any other shop but if you want to be treated like a POS or a little kid, Then this is the place. I am still laughing at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in this morning at 10:30 which were the posted hours on the door. I realized I was there just a few minutes after the posted time so I decided I would come back. A half hour later, i longboarded yet again to the shop and it wasn't open at 11:00. So i decided to get something to eat and came back at 11:30 Still nobody was there an hour and a half after opening time. Brandon didn't come in till 12:00. When I brought up that nobody was there and that I was frustrated he stated "it happens man" and didn't bother to apologize.
While it does happen, I would expect more from somebody I have been going to for 2 years. The reason he has had such trouble is because he doesn't put the customer first. I'm going to continue to go because it is the closest to my residence but I have been very disappointed with the customer service on several occasions.
As far as the shop, it is really great. Always is in stock and has a very interesting and wide selection.
Step it up Brandon, or hire someone to be there at opening time. I'm...
