Don’t let them do the Yuko/ Japanese Hair Straightening!!! I got the Yuko/ Japanese hair straightening done back in Nov. 2016 by Donovan. It cost $400 not including the 20% tip. Afterwards, my hair was still wavy, and he over-processed my hair leaving it fried and frizzy in some areas. I told him, and he said he would re-do my hair for me at no extra cost after my hair had time to heal. It is now May 2017 and I had Donovan do the Yuko /Japanese hair straightening for me once again. Again, it was still wavy, and my hair was over-processed. I contacted Donovan and his wife Mindi who also works here and does this service and I asked for $200 back since I never got the straight hair that I paid so much money for. (I have had this service performed by others and this was the only place that didn’t give me the straight hair I paid for and the only place that over-processed it). Donovan and Mindi both told me that Yuko must have changed their product, and that’s why he couldn’t get my hair straight. They did not give me any money back, and said re-straightening it wouldn’t work. I was simply told “sorry.” If this was a product that I purchased from a store, and the product didn’t work, I would have been able to take it back to the store and get a full refund. Save your money (and hair) and do not let them perform this service on you. I personally haven't gone here (they specialize in women's hair and extensions), but my girlfriend did. She wanted to swap out her extensions with new hair, making it a bit longer and more full. She was searching online because the lady she used to go to was all the way up in Salt Lake and was sort of mean and charged her for every little thing. She found Donovan by searching online, and wanted someone that seemed to know what they were doing with extensions. She could not have been happier with him! Not only was he extremely kind to her, but he was honest and didn't try to upsell her on anything. He gave her his advice on which products she should use for a variety of different things, and often times it was stuff that he didn't carry in his store. She even offered to purchase something in his store, but since she has a license, he recommended just saving her money and told her where he could get it herself for cheap. I picked her up once she got done and she was beaming! I haven't seen her this happy with her hair, ever! He is an expert with hair extensions and is very fair. He won't nickel and dime you. I was traveling from Los Angeles, working in Provo for three weeks and all of a sudden needed my tape in hair extensions taken out / put back in / adjusted. First, I didn’t even think I could find a salon nearby that specializes in hair extensions and being from LA I was highly skeptical even if I did, they stylist would be up to our pretentious LA standards - I say this tongue in cheek of course. I googled “best hair extensions in Provo” and Vanity Hair Salon was the first to pop up with high ratings. I quickly called and was given Jenni’s number by the owner. I spoke with her, she said not only did she love these extensions, but she lived doing them and they were her specialty. Not only did Jenni get me in the very next day, but she knocked my hair out of the park! She knew exactly what she was doing, replaced my extensions efficiently and placed them even better than what I went in with. She then cut my hair to blend better with my own natural hair and styled.
