Kirby's School of Wake — Local services in Osage Beach

My son Dalton is 15 and had his first wakeboard experience between my legs on a board at 3 yrs old. He has a huge passion for wakeboarding and had been begging to get some training time with Kirby since last year when we saw him in the cove training. We opted to use our boat (2012 Malibu MXZ 22) so Kirby could help us make sure we had balast/ wedge set up decent. He was so helpful and flexible with everything. Once Dalton got behind the boat it was awesome, the headset communication back and forth while he was wakeboarding was great, the real time feedback he could give to improve Dalton's form and focus on fundamentals to get things in the right place to be successful throwing new stuff in the future really catapulted him. Kirby helped him add toe side back role to his bag a tricks and he has added 4 more tricks since. His "eat your vegetables" advice has greatly improved his switch riding and 180's. Whether you a newby or an intermediate wanting to get to the next level, you gotta take advantage of Kirby's help if you in the area.

Within minutes of climbing aboard Kirby's boat, our family felt welcomed & excited for our day. Both of our kids (ages 11 & 13) had been wakeboarding for several years & wanted to strengthen basic skills & start to learn some jumps. In addition, we wanted for them both to gain a little more confidence.

Within 15 minutes, both kids had made the necessary tweaks to their routines and achieved the goals they set for their session. We will most definitely rebook with Kirby's School of Wake and are also looking forward to getting on the list for the 2025 Awaken Camp.

Most of all, we appreciated Kirby's teaching style. He was very calm & reassuring but also had a way of pushing just enough to give them confidence to make the adjustments & try new things. The session was worth our time for sure and we highly recommend him to anyone wanting to improve or strengthen their skill set on the water.

This is the second time I’ve been able to have a lesson with Kirby and once again it was an outstanding experience. Kirby comes to help at a waterski and wakeboard camp that help with in the summer so I’ve seen him work with dozens of children and make a huge difference in their riding, even though he only gets about 20-30 minutes with each of them.

I’m still a newish rider and I’ve been trying to jump wake to wake and both ways as well as 180s, but I’m neither consistent nor clean on these. In just one session, Kirby was able to help me clean up my riding and get my first toe side wake to wake. The way he can break the instruction down and help you make the small tweaks that make a huge difference in your ride makes the session worth every penny. In the end, I was able to get more pop, and go farther with less effort and easier landings.
