This is more than just a thrift store . While you will find great bargains on clothes , books and housewares , especially a wide and ever changing selection of LPs and 45s , Leslie is a great businesswoman and community activist. She dedicates a large portion the store to local artist’s wares . She aims to not only be a place that has very affordable shopping but aids in helping those that are affected by homelessness , domestic violence, struggling families , etc by finding the resources that are scarce in many towns . I’ve yet to see anyone turned away that needs a helping hand . The store also offers wellness workshops, art therapy and mental health support groups . I absolutely love this store. Going in and seeing all the hand made jewelry. Getting to be apart of the bag sales. All the effort these wonderful people but into their tye dye clothing. If you’re into small town shops this is definitely one I would recommend checking out.- To add they had their Easter Egg Hunt today along with pictures with the Easter bunny. It was a great time. The Ottawa Community Thrift has been a blessing to our lil town. They have reasonably priced home goods, clothing, books, records, and toys. They also have amazing local artwork, hand made goods, and other unique finds! The owner (Leslie) has been so kind to those in need and has never shied away from helping ANYONE who walks in the door.
