Turk Furniture — Local services in Ottawa

Do not buy from Turks. They sell over priced junk. The first couch we received from them started falling apart after less than 6 months. Turks came to my house to look at the couch... at a time which was convenient for THEM and told us that the fabric we selected (Even though they offered it) was too thin, and that's why the seams started to pop open. After much arguing and several hours later we selected a new fabric (which they tried to charge us extra for) and received a new couch within a few weeks. I've had this couch for four months now and already we're having a seam issue, but that's not all.....one of the springs is popping out of the back of the couch also. Again Turks came to my home to assess the damage. This time I was told that the spring must have just come lose and that my declawed cat is the cause of the hole not a faulty seam. After this first incident we decided to pay an extra $179 for the warranty which I was told would cover the spring and the hole but there might be a labor fee. I'm Speechless. We don't even use that couch. I have cheap furniture in my family room from Big Lots and Value city that has been used and abused for years and it's in better shape than this expensive new couch that I just bought and barely use. Was looking for TV/sofa table and decided to try Turk's in Ottawa. Was greeted promptly by Julie Sodaro who offered her help in assisting me. I usually like to browse by myself and Julie allowed me to have a look around without hovering but was close by in case I had any questions. I appreciated that she understood my shopping style and I soon found a table from Jofrin Canyon Series that I really liked. Julie answered my questions, offered the sales promo that was going on, and advised that it would be a few weeks for delivery. I appreciated the honesty on the lead time and assured her it was not an issue. The table arrived and I liked it so much that I called Julie back and asked her if there were any matching pieces. Turk Furniture is legit THE BEST place to go for furniture in Ottawa! I had to furnish my entire 4 bedroom home and they had everything I needed. I was able to furnish 90% of my home all through Turk! They have a very wide selection of furniture in different styles, colors, sizes, etc. It's all very high quality at fair prices. They regularly have sales too so you can get some great items at really great prices!! If you go - ask for Mickey! She is the best person to work with. She will listen to what you want, make suggestions from their inventory, and actively hunt down items so that you are 100% happy with your furniture!
