I have to give Schneider TV some props based on my interaction with them over six years. I first came into contact with them on a warranty repair on my Samsung DLP TV back in 2012. While replacing the defective part, the technician talked about issues I could run into that I could fix on my own, such as the bulb. In fact, two years later, I felt confident enough to replace the bulb on my own - both in being able to find the right part and installing it myself. Fast forward to 2018, I had another issue with the same TV. I thought it was the bulb based on my past experience. I replaced the bulb but had no luck. I then called Schneider TV. I spoke with the same person that repaired my TV back in 2012. He spent 14 minutes on the phone with me troubleshooting the TV - retracing the steps I had already taken, attempting a couple more steps. He said that there were two likely candidates for the cause of the problem, both of which would not be economical. Each possible repair would be at least half the cost of a new TV if I did them myself. And those repairs assumed I could find the parts. So both of the likely issues he discussed with me lined up with my own research beforehand. And in fact, I did find the parts online, both of which would cost about half the price of a new TV of the same size. Mind you, I had no desire to attempt these further repairs on my own anyway. I just had a great experience with Schneider TV & Video Services in "St. Louis" , that I wanted to share. I called Steve (good name), who turns out to be the owner and he was exceptionally polite, patient and helpful beyond the call of duty in regards to helping us with our TV issue.

We have a 65" big screen Toshiba TV which was blacking out on us and the color was fading to red/orange at times randomly, however, it would work fine while using the DVD option? This was puzzling to us. I called a different shop previously and they said they thought it would be the picture tube and I'd be looking at about a $600-700 repair. They also said it is common for those TV's to last about 8-10 years.

Needless to say I did not like that news, since the TV was over $2,000. So we made due, and finally I got back to checking on it again with a different shop 2 days ago, and Steve from "Schneider's TV", walked me through some trouble shooting tips where we discovered it was just a loose wire.

This was all it was. If I knew it would be that easy I would have dealt with it 4 months ago! Luckily I did not take the advice of the other shop or go buy another TV which I was close to doing, the only thing that stopped me was the place I shopped at was out of the model I wanted with no eta on availability.

Read the good reviews and thought i'd give them a chance. Took in our 2013 65" Samsung F7100 Smart TV that had a flickering on/off problem. They took the TV in and said they'd call me back in two days which they did. The man let me know that our Television requires a power module that is no longer available (which is true that it isn't) and that the TV is completely trash and they can recycle it for free. Upset that our TV, which cost us $2300 would now have to be tossed, we went ahead and bought a new 70" LG (~$1000) for our home. As I was getting ready to come pick up the mount bracket and LED strip from our old 'broken' Samsung, my wife asks that I take the TV home for her coworker to pick up and mess around with. He came by and picked up the old Samsung and I let him know that it was a power module issue, he took it anyway. Wife lets me know that he got the back of the TV open, cleaned the dust out and disconnected/reconnected a few of the cables. TV has been working great since with zero issues. He's had it on and off for about a week now with no problems. I guess the silver lining is that we have a 5" bigger TV now and that her coworker received the 'broken' TV instead of Schneider 'recycling' it, but we're still very upset at our unexpected and unnecessary expense.
