Updated 3/8/25 - this place has gone down hill so quickly. New management has made this place somewhere my daughter doesn’t even want to live anymore. They have a leaky washer, put in a maintenance request two days ago and no word from the complex. She had a package that was checked into the office, one leasing assistant said it was checked out by someone, the manager said they never received it. Two totally different stories. To take the cake, my daughter’s entire patio furniture has been stolen off their back patio. This place is complete trash. Xavier, an assistant lied about being a parent to join the ole miss parents fb group to see what people were saying about Uclub. Such dishonesty runs deep at this place. My favorite part is this place markets itself as student housing, yet we recently found out anyone can be placed in an open unit, student or not. I cannot wait for my daughter to graduate next year so we no longer have to deal with this place.
So far our experience with Uclub has not been positive. They were great before move in, but that’s where it stops. The first issue was we had inquired in writing about early move in for rush week and they had no record of it, even though the manager had responded to my email. Luckily we were still able to do early move in, but it definitely caused extra stress not knowing what was going on, even though we did what they asked. My daughter paid her rent for the first month, an entire month even though she will only be in her unit for 21 days and not 31. They also paid an early move in fee of $225.00 which we were told covered cleaning (as a landlord myself the cleaning fee should have come from the previous tenants, not the new tenant who hadn’t lived in the unit yet…) anyway, my daughter moved into her dirty apartment and after multiple emails and a phone call to the front office the unit is still not clean. The vents are caked in dust, the fridge is dirty, the microwave is dirty, a rocking chair is broken, there’s garbage in their yard that was there when they moved in, multiple mud wasp nexts on their back patio, their couch is ripped in multiple spots, their dryer has water in it, they have water leaking from the ceiling into the kitchen, my daughter had crumbs all over her closet before she moved a single item in, the washer and dryer area was not cleaned at all, her roommates sink was clogged with NASTY black hair, there was a nail sticking up out of one of the steps and wiring hanging out outside the front door, my daughters bathtub is disgusting the lock to her door doesn’t work. All of this an we paid a cleaning fee and the cleaning never happened, if it did, we definitely have different standards of cleanliness. I can’t get the office to return my call or any emails. I was promised by Carson a walk through by the manager would happen and it didn’t. We will NOT be making the mistake of resigning a lease at this complex. The standards of this complex are low, and they don’t mind taking money from students and then putting them in filth. Attached are just...
Read moreI was very excited for this place to open, but was quickly disappointed to realize that it was operated by a bunch of college aged students with zero prior management experience. On top of this, the houses were very disappointing.
Allow me to break down exactly why you should look elsewhere for your housing. There are a lot of options in Oxford. Do not pick this one.
Management: These people are literally winging it every day. Their "CAs" do not do their job and I've heard them openly complain to people that they don't like their jobs. This is all fine and well, but it reflects poorly on the staff operating this place. Also, the FINES. These people will fine you every chance they get... did you leave a bag of trash on the backporch for 12 hours? $25 fine. Did you have a small foreman grill visible? $25 fine. Sometimes their automatic draft for rent won't work properly, and they'll fine you for rent being late as well. Their lease agents are salesmen just like the rest of them, and will blatantly lie about price rates and projected price changes.
House: The houses themselves are very cheap, poorly laid out, and very obviously rushed and put together in a hurry. There is dried paint and adhesive all over the floors. When we arrived, doors had been painted shut because they were closed without allowing the paint to dry. Opening the door ripped part the paint off. The hot water sometimes just doesn't work. The WiFi is on and off and has poor range/bandwidth. The AC/Heat will literally turn off and reset to its default at 2:00 AM, either cooking you or freezing you inside depending on the time of year. The rooms are quite small and poorly laid out as well. Also, this place is furnished with entirely faux wood, cheap furniture. The mattresses they give you are literally the mattresses I slept on in Stewart Hall. Also they are full XL and it is super hard to find sheets that fit.
I implore you, go live somewhere else. Do not pay these people and lets all hope they go out of business ASAP....
Read moreDefinitely my worst living experience in Oxford. To start, the staff will lie to you about anything and everything to get you to sign and temporarily make you happy. My roommate and I were both told when we signed that we were getting the “best price” and that it would only go up if we waited. The price later dropped over $100 per month. Also never let them tell you that you cannot downgrade because one of our roommates was allowed to downgrade to the shared room after another was told she could not. We were also assigned a random roommate and it is evident that there is no strategy put into this whatsoever. Being very allergic to cats, I was assigned a roommate who HAS CATS. And the managers solution was “ask her to wash all of her clothes, pillows, and blankets”. We were also urged to just give her a try and “guaranteed” that if things did not work out with her then she would be moved, only to later be told my other roommates and I would have to pay $250 to relocate her. Roommate mediation was also an absolute joke because after a CA had us all agree upon terms and sign a contract, we were told that they would not do anything if she were to break that contract.
Finally, like everyone else is saying if you value your privacy AT ALL, do NOT sign at UClub. Since January (7 months) we received over 10 emails for maintenance to come by and do “annual fire inspections”. Clearly they do not know the meaning of the word annual. During one of these inspections one of the maintenance men walked into my room and just randomly flushed the toilet??? These fake inspections are nothing but an excuse for maintenance to spy on you and attempt to fine you for minuscule things.
Moral of the story: do not live here unless you want a...
