Went during non peak hours around 4pm, only few patrons dining at that time. Was offered regular seating or hibachi, we sat on the regular side. TVs were turned on in front and in back, radio was loud and on some weird pop station. The waiter we had was nice and had accent. He was very polite, matter of fact, and refilled drinks once. The menu was more than adequate. There was a plethora of options. We ended up with the three regular roll special and the spicy chicken soup. The spicy chicken soup was SPICY without much flavor. The rolls were “ok” at best. I’ve had better sushi at a Chinese buffet which is saying a lot. One of the rolls (can’t remember the name of it) had huge globs of this mayonnaise/ketchup concoction on top of it which was off putting but once removed tasted the most like actual seafood. The miso soup was decent, the ginger dressing on the salad was actually good. I think it was my favorite besides the wasabi which was fresh and zingy. The ponzu was decent quality as well. The staff appeared bored and just stood around horseplaying, singing with the radio, dancing, and staring at others while they ate. It was very unprofessional and quite rude. The restaurant was clean as well as the restrooms. There was designated parking out front for pickup orders and it seemed a lot of the staff and energy was aimed there. The workers at the sushi bar seemed lively and animated and chatted among themselves. The crowd picked up as we were leaving, and the workers seemed to stumble over themselves clumsily and awkwardly as if they weren’t trained adequately. I would be willing to give them one more chance with maybe a specialty roll, a dinner entree or a bowl of udon, but as of right now I think they are overhyped, overpriced and...
Read moreOur server was nice but didn't speak good English. Although it was not busy (at one point, we were the only customers), the server didn't attend to our table as well as she should have. Especially since I was forced to pay her a 15% gratuity added to my check! Why would a server try to provide any better customer services if they know they're going to get a tip anyway? In this case, her tip was about $10.00 for 2 people. Now, the hibachi chief was the best that I had ever had. He made sure that our visit was enjoyable and the food was good as well. He's the single reason why I didn't give this establishment a thumbs down.
Would I eat there again? Yes, I would give them another try, but not anytime soon. If I had to suggest anything different, it would be to modify their tip policy to suggest tip amounts and not to force your customers to pay tips at what the restaurant think it should be. We tipped the chief and would have tipped the server. Just not as much as she got.
We got full and took food home, too!
My friends and I had an amazing evening at this Japanese hibachi restaurant last week. Firstly, the chef’s performance was truly spectacular – not only were their culinary skills top-notch, but they also brought a delightful sense of humor, enhancing the entire dining experience. Each dish was crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients, resulting in flavors that were simply exquisite, creating a feast for the taste buds.
We opted for the hibachi-grilled meats, and from start to finish, we were captivated by the chef’s exceptional culinary skills. The meat was tender, juicy, and paired with meticulously crafted sauces, leaving us savoring every bite. The portions were generous, truly delivering great value for the money.
The service deserves commendation as well; the entire team was incredibly warm and attentive, providing timely assistance and offering detailed descriptions of the dishes. The ambiance was comfortable, making us feel right at home.
Overall, this Japanese hibachi restaurant offers a dual feast for both the eyes and taste buds. I will definitely revisit and highly recommend this wonderful dining experience...
